Are you sitting down, Gleeks? Well you might want to, because we have some exclusive Glee news that’s positively Madge-ical. EW has learned that Madonna has given Glee the rights to her catalog and that an all-Madonna-music episode is in the works for early next year. The hit series has been building an audience and filling the iTunes charts with its cover songs, and Madonna’s involvement is a testament to how big the show is getting. Also, an amazing Glee cover of a classic Madonna track has the potential to be even bigger than the show’s blockbuster take on “Don’t Stop Believin’.” Quinn totally has to do “Papa Don’t Preach.” And I can completely see Rachel tackling “Material Girl.”
But Madonna might not be the only pop star getting some Glee love. Co-creator Ryan Murphy tells EW that he’s considering approaching American Idol runner up Adam Lambert about appearing on the show (next year, Glee will be paired with Idol on Wednesday nights). Nothing is official yet but Lambert does seem like an ideal choice for Glee.

I don’t feel like Adam will be that convincing as an actor on Glee… maybe if he plays himself and only has a couple lines or something. Otherwise, I feel like it will be cringe-worthy ><
I don't recommend it. I'd rather see someone like Matt Giraud, Megan Joy, or Scott MacIntyre on Glee.

Please, no Glambert on Glee. I love this show, and I totally need a Glambert Free Zone somewhere. As much as I want to keep up with the faux pregnancy fall-out and also see the kids besides Rachel and Finn get some solos, I would tune out any week they stick Adam Lambert on this show. Kristin Chenoweth and her brand of over the top scenery chewing was bad enough. Lambert is more of the same, without the resume or awards!
oh… and they have to do LIKE A PRAYER! and EXPRESS YOURSELF!

I’d rather her Rachel sing “Crazy on You” by Heart. At least with that song she could show off her vocal chops.

Ten bucks on Lea singing “Take a Bow”. It will be the second song she sings this season with that title, but Madonna’s version is a natural for a show like this.

Oh no! I mean yes to them doing an all Madonna episode, that’s going to rock…. as long as they don’t touch Ray of Light or Like A Prayer, those two songs are holy and should be left alone.
The whole cast should do a huge Hung Up dance off though.

Except she is a virgin, so “Like A Virgin” can go to Quinn. It’s perfect. Actually, several Madonna songs are.
Papa Don’t Preach would not make sense since a line from the song is; “but I made up my mind, I’m keeping my baby” which Quinn is not, unless she changes her mind. Eh, I guess they had her sing Keep Me Hanging On earlier this season and the lyrics to that did not match up to her situation with Finn either. Oh well.
But “Keep me hanging On” did fit her situation- she was singing about the cheerios and Sue and how they were keeping her holding on even though they didn’t really care about her.

I thought she was going to appear as well. Either way, the episode should be fun. Nothing would be more hilarious than seeing a Prom related episode with Kurt leading a performance to Vogue.

No but they could do a Kurt-crush type of episode with Lambert making a surprise visit to the school. (And Adam trying to be nice and dodge Kurt’s flirtations at the same time!) That’d be hilarious.

I’d say he’s a music star now. His first single (Time for Miracles from the movie 2012) is in the iTunes top 10, 1 day after being released.

This is awesome!! When I first saw the tweet, I thought Madonna was going to appear, but this is so much better (Madonna + acting is never good). And yes to Adam appearing – I would love that.
