Kanye, Shmanye. Lady Gaga has risen from the ashes of Fame Kills (guess it doesn’t?) with plans for her own headlining tour, entitled Monster’s Ball — and kids, she ain’t bluffin’ with her muffin.
As she told Rolling Stone, “Imagine if you could take the sets of an opera, which are very grand and very beautiful, and put them through a pop-electro lens. The design of the show is very, very forward, very, very innovative.”
“The theme of monsters is certainly going to be an influence, as well as the theme of evolution and change. It’s going to be a truly artistic experience that is going to take the form of the greatest post-apocalyptic house party that you’ve ever been to.”
As for the detritus of Fame Kills? You won’t be seeing it at the Ball. “I’m certainly inspired by what we were doing,” claims la Gaga. “But I made a decision based on integrity not to use any of the things that we had designed together.”
“It just wasn’t the right timing,” she continues. “I don’t want to embellish on it too much, because I want to respect Kanye’s privacy. But we just had our own reasons. We’re real friends, real friends can make decisions like that… It just wasn’t the right time. But who’s to say what will happen in the future?”
According to the New York Times, the tour will kick off November 27 at the Bell Center in Montreal and wrap up January 20 and 21 at Radio City Music Hall in New York. Her revised and expanded deluxe re-release of her 2008 debut The Fame, entitled Fame Monster, is due November 23.

Good for her. I really only wanted to see her anyway
I’m really excited about hearing the new 2009 songs added to the 2008 The Fame album for this expanded release for Lady Gaga. I’m more into hearing the new songs than the other songs I’ve already heard.
a shame that such a generic product is so popular with nonsense lyrics and mediocre music arrangements but what else i just hope those buying her music and going to her concerts are simple minded … sure its ” dance ” music but theres vibe and actual talent with Kylie Minouge
Riiiiiight… because “Come on baby, do the locomotion with me” is Pulitzer winning material.
The locomotion girl??
please… the only other hit she had besides “locomotion” was “Can’t get you out of my head” like a decade ago… can you get your head out of your ass??
Only other hit in the states… there is the rest of the world you know!
Kylie Minogue is a Certified Super Star for the past 10 plus years..More than Locomotion or Can’t get you out of my head..Look up her up and do your homework..GaGa is Amazaing and should only hope her career can last as long or produce more hits than one album or a reissue of the same album! Her is to both of them!!
Why should I look her up when I honestly don’t care for her music?
ML – I live in the states, why would I care what other countries listen to when I don’t live in them? Of course I’m only going to quote her hits in the states. No, this isn’t some US approach at thinking we’re the center of the earth (we are not and I’m aware that the world doesn’t revolve around the US).
I like Kylie, too, & wish she’d had more hits. Luis, though, is exhibiting typical fanbot behavior.
As much as I like Lady Gaga, I just wonder how much longer her career will last. Will she truly succeed Madonna, or will she just become another relic like Boy George? Or will it be something in between.
Gaga = Queen. She has made pop music fun again and there is no shame in liking pop!
Lady Gaga is a sad, pale, autotuned imitation of many true innovators who’ve gone before. If this is your ‘edgy’, you clearly need to get out more.
..is so overrated.
Trying way too hard to be (what she thinks is) edgy.
I love how she describes her work. It’s always very descriptive, vague, and a little dirty. I can’t wait to see her January 8 in Chicago!!!
Oh me too! Yay! Her music just puts me in the best moods! I can’t wait to dance at her show!
I dont understand the hate. She’s very focused on her music and she’s hussling, not getting caught doing drugs and drinking and crashing her car, which is more than most young entertainers
Gaga is and will be so much more than a bunch of stupid teenagers debating her merits on an EW comment log. She’s freakin smart, people. Just sit back and watch, there’s nothing to discuss. walk away if you dnt like it, but as long as there is controversy, she’s making an impact like it or not.
Wow, did U hit the nail on the head! And on top of your words, she is still a very young woman. Lady GaGa, like the many she is compared to. Is 1 of a kind, just like the stars that came before and will come after. I’ve been listening & dancing to Madonna, since “Borderline” I’m 47 now, I hope I am listening to Lady Gaga when I’m 67 to whatever that imagination of hers whips up to get my old a** dancing!
(Nobody will care for my comment but…) I wish she came to South America! I would pay a lot to see her live
I care, her concert tour is just way to dang short. I live n Dallas, Tx. There is no way I can get to a show in the states and I am still trying. Lady GaGa, we want more shows, a world tour perhaps!!!
Right on, Keith. The effort to be so edgy is getting old fast. We get it — you’re pushing the envelope. ZZZzzzzzz….
Lady GaGa’ s just so much dang fun to dance to. She is my 1 of a kind, I just hope she has a long and succesful career. I know you dudes are young, I’m 47, however, can”t you just enjoy a party starter?? <333
