I thought it was beautiful, very reflecting of that she has been through! Way to do it, very dark but most likely truthful of her inner thoughts on what has happened to her, any girl can understand where she is coming from when something like that happens to you, not mention that she is a celebrity and it was all over the news, and she had to relive it multiple times over and over!
Rihanna does great work, she continues to capture my complete attention, with her mysterious looks. Rihanna is completely beautiful from all angles….great job.
the video is awesome!!!! It goes perfect with the song! Its not melodramatic at all! Its intense just like the message of the song! And can we talk about how fabulous she looks?! Excuse me people, she’s still a pop star and she has managed to change her image in a fierce way! Love the video! Love her new hair. Love her clothes. Love jesse jackson as her evil boyfriend! Love it all! Team rihanna all the way!
It’s a lot like Madonna’s video for Die Another Day. I didn’t find it violent at all, and not more disturbing than, say, November Rain. Closer? Really? Maybe you need to watch that one again.
Tho I think the song is well crafted – my first thought when listening to it was – how will she feel when teens who hear the song think it would be cool to play russian roulette and try it and end up dead…well it’s happened – St. Paul Central High School – “A woman whose 16-year-old son is accused of fatally shooting a fellow high school student in the back of the head after a St. Paul house party and games of Russian roulette said Tuesday that her family’s “hearts are heavy with grief” over the death and added that her son pulled the trigger not knowing that the gun was loaded.” Tho it doesn’t mention whether or not they had listened to or were listening to Rihanna’s tune – timing sure seems to be coincidental. Maybe a mature artist who’s suffered at the hands of abuse, might decide pulling her song back could save a life.
