Adam is articulate and extremely intelligent (as well as obviously talented!). I hope that soon people/press can put the spotlight on Adam’s talent rather than his orientation. I’m just as tired of the gay focus and questions as I’m sure he is of answering them! It’s time to move on and accept and love Adam as nature made him (which is damn near perfect) and applaud and support his personal and musical accomplishments.

This extra-Crispy is cracking me up!!!

  • spinastory

    Its not that Deep.. :-)

  • Sara

Adam, Love U. That editor was looking for publicity in a very rude way!

  • Jeremy

Looks like Adam sees the bigger picture whereas Out is willing to sacrifice Adam’s individuality for their own agenda. Not a smart move for a magazine in the digital age.

  • Marilyn

Good for you Adam. He doesn’t want to get involved in the politics, so what? And I really agree with his point of view, I believe Aaron is holding people back and segregating them. If Adam wasn’t famous, this all would be a non-issue. I guess everyone wants a piece of his fame. It’s too bad, I was looking forward to reading that magazine

  • Andrea

I think Adam is very shrewd and intelligent; I respect him for backing up his management team and explaining that he is the one who is deciding upon parameters for interviews, not someone else. It sounds like Adam has the respect of his management and is in control of his own image and career. Go Adam! He knows how to handle himself.

  • Lola

Love Adam, still hate you, Whitney.:)

I’m gay and a 40 something old male who is single. I am not a fan of Adam Lambert’s. He takes ‘gay’ back 40 years with his make-up, effeminate behavior, and his ego. Also, I don’t like his singing style—It’s very screamy. But I am a fan of Kris Allen.

    • DeeDee

Fine then go listen to Kris!!! How on earth do you get that he is taking “gay” back 40 years??? He is trying to promote not segregating gay and straight…isnt that how it should be. AND his makeup is glam not “gay” – its sad how someone who IS gay would label makeup on a male as gay since there have been straight rockers for years wearing makeup and being effeminate. Call it “not your thing ot your personal style” but calling it “gay” is taking it back 40 yrs!!! By the way, how the heck do you get that he has an EGO? The guy is articulate and eloquent. He is also incredibly humble. I have not heard or read one egomaniacal thing from him.

      • DeeDee

        ooops ^^^^^ ot = or above ….lol

    • to ruta

Wow you think an ego, makeup and effeminate behavior takes gay back 40 years? It’s Aaron the Editor and Perez Hilton that are doing it on their own through foolish actions. There you go putting the gay cause on the shoulders of an individual just like Aaron did. So you like twinks… not surprised and to me you seem to be taking gay back 40 years with your attitude.

    • Rawk on Adam

@Ruta…seriously, are you serious?! My goodness, you are all kinds of strange.

    • What??

It’s no wonder you’re single. Maybe you should stop lusting after straight, married males and be the ‘gay’ you ‘think’ Adam should be,’cause apparently you have an issue with Adam’s ‘gayness’.

Adam DOES NOT scream,by the way! Maybe it’s just the screams you hear from people banging their heads against a wall after reading your stupid banter!

      • Mike

You’re right. Adam doesn’t scream. He screeches. There is a difference. To be fair though, he does have a very nice voice…until the screeching begins.

    • crispy

      ruta, you’re a self-hating homophobic douchetard. That’s the reason you’re single.

    • Ed

Hm… well, actually if you took “gays” back 40 years, you wouldn’t find flamboyance, makeup, effeminate behavior and ego… why, 40yrs ago gay men were exactly like you; repressed, self hating, closeted and afraid of what others might think/say. I think there’s a correlation there with you being single. Do the math 2009 – 40 = 1969, when the stonewall riots happened that sparked the gay civil rights movement. Flamboyance, PRIDE and fabulous gay self esteemed began two years after Stonewall riots. YOU are the type of gay that gives the rest of us a bad name with your wanting to assimilate to something we are not.

      • FrankSF

Minor point Ed: the Stonewall riot was started by drag queens.

      • crispy

        No, it wasn’t. That’s a huge myth.

      • Ed

FrankSF – you are correct, it was started by drag queens, drag queens who never, ever went out dressed in drag in public. This is why the riots happened, because the police targetted bars they knew allowed men to dress as women and women to dress as men INSIDE their establishments. There was also a lot of corruption with the police often demanding payments to leave these establishments alone. Flamboyance, in the sense of gay men acting effeminate and dressing up in drag publicly didn’t occur until two years AFTER the stonewall riots.
crispy: FrankSF is correct, when the drag queens fought the police back, other village residents jumped in on the fight and started throwing bricks and bottles at the cops. The first one to fight back, ironically was neither a drag queen nor a manly gay man, it was a lesbian who fought being arrested and asked everyone standing around why they weren’t doing anything, then the drag queens fought back and then it became a riot with everyone else joining the fight that night.

    • FrankSF

ruta, I’m a 50-something butch gay male and I think Adam is the best thing to happen to the gay world in a long long time. Incredible talent + fearlessness + individuality = superstar in the making. I’m proud to call him one of ours.

  • Bruce

That editor of OUT was very unprofessional in what he did. If they had an issue with it why not talk to him about it while he was there for the interview. Why ambush him after the fact? Probably because the editor is a coward and would rather stab him in the back.

    • DeeDee

Its because he wanted to use Adam to get readership for his magazine. Its pretty clear to everybody that Adams fans are beyond loyal!!! Too bad he just didnt keep his mouth shut cause that interview rocked but now no one will buy the magazine because of that open letter….talk about backfiring. Adam called it on his tweets. There was no reason for Hicklin to do that publicly!

  • I’m gay and under 40

    Why am I not surprised?

  • SandyShores

I was all ready to buy “Out” because Adam is on the cover. Now I’m thinking twice, and more, about giving them my money. Adam being gay should be no more relevant than Adam being Jewish. All that really matters is his music, and that he himself is very articulate in expressing his views. YOU GO ADAM – BE YOURSELF!

  • Lloyd

Why are gay people expected to state their sexuality or be characterized as being closeted? Are straight people expected to express their heterosexuality right out of the box? If they don’t do so, does that mean they are hiding it?

    • crispy

Good grief. Straight people express their sexuality constantly. They won’t shut up about it. If I heard “dead wife” one more time on Idol, I was going to throw my TV in a river.

      • deedee

Well Crispy I agree with you there!!! But the douchbag Gokey is not the subject of this article!!! Adam had enough integrity to not use his personal life to try and win a talent show!!

    • Jackson

“Are straight people expected to express their heterosexuality right out of the box?”

Seriously? That’s exactly what (most) heterosexuals do! Only a straight person would make such a comment.

  • Leigh

Leave the guy alone – it’s his life. He doesn’t have to tell anyone what he does in his bedroom if he doesn’t want to. All this insatiable curiosity about his love life. Get a life of your own, people.

  • spinastory

Ruta “But I am a fan of Kris Allen” yeah we know. So am I. I love music all music.
