You can see a full list of the early winners here.

Wow, that reminds me of last year when I won a Grammy for Best T-Shirt Worn While Purchasing Ink Toner at a Retail Store (East Coast).

This is why I have no respect at all for the Grammy’s, its took them 40 years to honor one of the greatest song writers to ever live???? !!!!

    • claudenorth

Yeah, and they honor him for art direction. From the Division of Insert Knife and Twist.

The Grammys are obviously not legitimate. Just look at their best album nominees. Wilco is only nominated for one category, and Taylor Swift is nominated for what, 10? Not to mention that Neil Young, one of the greatest singer/songwriters of all time, finally wins a Grammy and can’t even give an acceptance speech.

Great songwriter -yes. Great singer – no! Just imagine a duet with Neil and Taylor Swift. We’d be out shootin’ dogs all night long. . .

  • Elliot

Wow…I agree. One of the greatest, most influential, most respected musical figures of all time, and has never won a Grammy, and when he does, it’s for art direction on the album cover or whatnot? Meanwhile Taylor Freaking Swift gets a Grammy for best VOCALS on a country record….???? And a ton of other nods, and she isn’t even 21. Disgraceful. Yep, the Grammies are a (very unfunny) joke.

Neil Young should have performed tonight. He has never given a bad performance.

Wow. That’s kinda crazy. Congrats, Grammys, do you want a prize or something for this?

  • London

Wow…I was unaware until now he had never won. That’s ridiculous! He was an amazing songwriter and then started to write/perform his own songs and never won? Grammy’s are you crazy?

  • Justin

ha! This is why I don’t watch the grammys besides the fact that they don’t honor the music I listen to..but Neil Young not winning?? ever?? I’d think this was a joke if it wasn’t true! stupid grammys..

  • orville

Honestly? He’s never won before? Even as a part of CSNY? Unbelievable–and a travesty. And with this one, it wasn’t even for the music. Crazy.

Almost 50 years in the business as a performer, songwriter and musician. Not to mention countless relief concerts and most recently the Hatian relief brodcast. The grammy’s are a popularity concert, definitely not based on talent. The man is an icon! Rock on Neil and thanks for all the years of great performances.

  • peter davis

Thanks everyone for comments in support of Neil. Absolutely unbelievable that Neil hasn’t been awarded a Grammy; he’s one of the few musicians that has maintained his creative ability and put out great albums throughout the years, not to mention his amazing contributions with his annual benefit conference and mentoring a whole new generation of rocfkers
