Definitely Team Kelly. She hit it spot on without insulting Taylor. There was no need for Scott to try and tear down American Idol, it effectively insults all the contestants on that show, many of whom are far more talented, vocally, than Taylor Swift could ever hope to be.
In response to Jelly Kelly, did you read where Kelly defended Swift at the AMA’s or that she expresses that she likes her in this article. You obviously have problems with KC. She only wrote this because Swift’s manager spoke negatively about the AI singers and since she was the first AI winner, it kinda smacks her in the face. Also, two of her singles from the last album have been in the top 20 for most of the year. Where have you been? Go back there.
Team Kelly ALL the way. Perhaps the one thing that could embarass Taylor more than her Grammy performance would be the poor – and lame – excuses made about it.
Team Kelly…You can be an emotional singer and still sing on key. Jennifer Hudson’s “And I am Telling You I’m Not Going” comes to mind.
I’m just glad this whole situation happened. Maybe it opened some eyes, and brought to the forefront Swift’s lack of talent. Maybe she will take note that she needs ALOT of work to be considered a legitimate artist in the future.

Is this even a serious question?

Team Kelly 100%. While this may not be a contest between Taylor and Kelly (and other Idols), I personally prefer singers that can actually hit the “right” notes as Kelly stated.
TEAM KELLY ALL THE WAY!!!!:D
Team Kelly, undoubtedly.
Taylor Swift is definitely no “voice of a generation” but her bullying boss, Scott Borchetta, is for sure the “voice of an Ari Fleischer”.
Can’t help myself. It SHOULD be:
…”who sings better than she does.” Not “than her.”
Off-topic, I know, but I expect proper grammar from a publication such as EW!
My guess is that Mr. Scott might have been taking more of a swipe at Carrie Underwood than any other American Idol.
I agree, which is a bit ridicolous – I like both, but Carrie can sing rings around Taylor
i agree! if he’s referring to any AI contestant it’s more Carrie since Taylor and Carrie have been nominated in many categories as of late.
I think Kelly had a classy response to very poorly worded statement. I can see why she would take offense to someone attacking the show that gave Kelly her shot at stardom. She is an amazing singer and I am more impresed by her class and intelligence then I was before.
Taylor’s a nice girl. So is Kelly. Taylor is a decent songwriter. So is Kelly. None of Taylor’s songs has ever givn me goosebumps when I heard it. Kelly’s have.
TEAM KELLY ALL THE WAY!
She too writes her own music, go out an buy My December the most underrated album ever and her best one ever!!! She wrote the whole thing and I still jam to it. Its an emotional set of songs.
Kellys vocals are amazing and she is just standing up to what he said about AI. She is an AI alumni she should stand up for it and all the contestants who grace AI good or bad.
So true, Jaime!! My December is a fantastic album, and hands down one of my favorites of Kelly’s. She’s such a classy, amazing girl who tells it straight. Go, Kelly!!
