The look Jay-Z gives Jonathan Ross when the BBC host attempts to sing a line of Beyoncé’s “Single Ladies (Put a Ring on It)” in the interview clip below is priceless. You can catch it around the 1:50 mark: a particularly piquant version of the patented Jay-Z side-eye, an expression also displayed at the recent NBA All-Star weekend, along with so many other occasions through the years.
Hilarious, right? Really, though, Jay-Z’s entire sit-down with Jonathan Ross is worth watching. He claims at one point to have invented Beyoncé’s famous “Single Ladies” dance moves. (That’s a joke…I think.) It’s all very funny. And while Jay does a lot of kidding around, in the process Ross actually gets him to talk more about his marriage to Beyoncé than either member of the super-private couple typically does.

never seen an interview with Jay-Z (but he’s my favorite rapper), but he was so under-the-radar charming in this one! who would have thought Jay-Z is a comedian?
When hes acts like that it makes me see why Beyonce is with beyond the money (when she first started out). I actually started to like him even was it me or did he seem a little attractive? Why cant he act like that when hes in America?
No, it’s just you, Jay-Z is not attractive. If they ever need a replacement for Joe Camel, they need not look any further.
that’s just your ignorant opinion. TONS of women find Jay attractive.
if you like this one, you should see the Oprah clip where he teaches her how to rap
He’s so laid back and so down to earth. My fave rapper and I don’t like rap all that much. But he’s more musical — along with Kanye — than the others out there.
Apparently, Jay-Z has never heard of Gwen Verdon.
That was great! I clicked over to the full interview, and it was even funnier. I love when talented artists are also funny, laidback, and actually seem like people you’d want to hang out with.
this is the MOST comfortable he has ever been in an interview…
I’m happy to see it.
rest ensure that Jay-Z and all the British have a dry sense of humour so in actual fact Mr Knowles Carter was playing you all and he didn’t speak more about his marriage he was being sarcastic throughout this whole interview…
If I was interviewing him I would have to ask him what are his thoughts on the general public perceiving you has a devil worshiper…i like to quote I have done my real search and he is not no satanist.
But Jonathan Ross is a show that I wish to appear on oneday
oh jay z is just gross!
beyonce could’ve done better SRSLY!
Who would’ve know he had all that humor in him! Gotta love him!!!
I love J, love that he keeps the noses curious. Have to leave something to for us to keep coming back. Looks are everything – its what’s in the heart and on the mind. GO J & B….4 ever!
Glad to see everyone realizes that Jay-Z is joking throughout the interview. A website posted it as a real news story saying that Jay is claiming that Beyonce stole moves from him and that he created all her dances. Apparently this comedic interview went over the head of that “reporter”.
