Her announcement, writ largely in Kanye caps, below:

Its clear to everyone that she will be on the same level as Madana, MJ and Elvis. If yu don’t like that fact then sorry to bad for you.
I think she’s talented, but you are going a little overboard. She has released one album, give her time to grow as an artist. Plus, the fact that you can’t spell “Madonna” gives you no credibility. Grow up, tween!
Let’s not get carried away, buddy. A few small facts:
–Madonna (or “Madana” to some) has sold 64 million albums in the U.S. so far… so Gaga only has 60 million more to go!
–Elvis is the best-selling solo artist in American history. ‘Nuff said.
–AND Michael Jackson’s best-selling album (Thriller) has outsold Gaga’s entire output worldwide by 100 million. Add in all his other music and that number jumps to 770 (!!!) million.
Gaga is definitely the pop artist of the moment, but let’s see where she is in 20 (or 10, or 5) years before passing judgment as to her impact on music history.
My biggest worry is that she’ll tire her self out and have a severe breakdown. I lvoe the new music, but I’d rather she take a break and come back stronger than ever before.

Although some (or most) may not like her style or her behavior, we have to give her credit for her talent. She is, if nothing else, extremely talented. I really enjoy her music and can’t wait to hear more.

As a songwriter, for example – she can pump out one excellent, catchy, occasionally brilliant pop single after another. Actually, she’s relentlessly good at it. Also, as a piano player, which she’s done since she was like 5 or something. Also, as a producer. Also, in concept. Also, as a designer…

Gaga is ubertalented, for sure…but there is a fine line between ubiquity and oversaturation. I’d much rather see her disappear for a year and come back with a new sound. I have a feeling this album is going to sound like The Fame 3.0
Although she used Kanye capitals, at least she was kind enough to break it up into lots of lines, rather than giving us one big paragraph like Kanye does.
Of course it’s the best of her career – she only does have 1.5 albums out so far, really. But hopefully this means that her music will evolve as her career goes on.
I hate when people claim they have written an anthem. An anthem is anointed over time by the people, not christened by its creator. The Who’s “Won’t Get Fooled Again” is anthem, not some crap churned out by Hollywood’s auto-tuned pop factory…
