Since Kanye West‘s MTV Awards gaffe last September when he interrupted Taylor Swift’s acceptance speech, he’s basically disappeared. Right before Christmas he made a surprise appearance at his G.O.O.D Music artist Kid Cudi‘s show at the Nokia Theater in Los Angeles, where he declared that he’d be back in the studio at the top of 2010.
So far he’s spent this year the same way he spent the end of 2009: quietly. Usually seen in magazines and spotted walking the streets of New York, L.A., Paris and London, West hasn’t been photographed in months. Kanye hasn’t released a song and only barely hinted at working on his next album while remembering Alexander McQueen on his blog last month. Recently, though, it’s started looking like he’ll release his next album sooner than later.
Billboard recently reported that West is currently in his “Diamond Head, Hawaii home and recording studio, putting the final touches on his forthcoming album with guest rappers like Q-Tip, RZA and Pete Rock.” Several websites are reporting that it will be called Good Ass Job.
A rep for Kanye says he can’t confirm the album’s release date, title, or status. But if West’s new album is coming soon, are you going to pick it up? Or is it just too soon? Check out our poll below and tell us what you think.

I love Kanye’s production over his bragging raps, but Pete Rock hasn’t produced a hit since the 90′s “T.R.O.Y. (They Reminisce Over You)” . I understand Kanye likes to reach back to a time when hip-hop was more soulful than ringtone ready, but I’m not so certain bout Kanye & Pete Rock creating a current hit…if anything their work more than likely won’t be a pop hit or single.
I think that doing a song with Pete Rock will be good. I don’t think they’re looking for a hit anyway, they’re into the soulful hip-hop aspect of it.

I agree with some people on here, Chris Brown abused a woman and was able to make public appearances again and allowed places, what Kanye did isn’t even on that level. There’s picture evidence of what Chris did to Rihanna! come on people.

I’ve always loved Kanye’s music but I can never bring myself to buy his albums since time and time again he does something that makes him even more of a [insert foul language of your choice]. I just cannot force myself to give this guy any of my money…no matter how genius I think his music is. I wish I could at least remotely like Kanye the person a trillionth as much as I like Kanye the artist.
seriously? kanye is totally over the top but there’s a good chance his last few indiscretions involved an alcohol problem following the death of his mother. the guy has pretty much fallen off the radar since the taylor swift “debacle” which is more than we can say for folks like chris brown and tiger woods. if you stopped supporting every obnoxious artist out there, you’d have very little to watch, read, or listen to.
