I liked the Madonna episode, not because of Madonna’s music but because it spread the wealth among the characters (tina and artie’s relationship was explored) (Satana got to sing somewhat solo) ( and the twist having Jesse join New Directions was huge and has me questioning his motives even more). I never listened to Madonna, but have nothing against. However, I am completely repulsed by Britney, I hate everything about her, and if Glee does a hour of her songs I will have to face the biggest dilemena, actually listen to a Spears song start to finish or miss an episode of my new favorite show. There is not one britney spears song I can even tolerate.
Does anyone know a way to send boycott ideas to Ryan Murphy.

Madonna is the greatest female artist in music history, Britney is white trash with good marketing.
I love Madonna, but calling her “the greatest female artist in music history”? Dude, get real. She’s fantastic, but most certainly NOT the greatest female artist in music history. You obviously don’t listen to many female artists for you to make that hyperbolic statement.
Definitely not-the whole Madonna themed episode was great because it was a one time only show. If they start making the show about tributes to certain performers, instead of about the characters, i think it will lose a lot of its appeal.
What is this man doing. Brittany? The only reason why the Madonna episode worked was because of the Madonna songs. The show was a bit off. Why not Michael Jackson, George Michael or even better PRINCE!!! I would love to hear Jesse St James sing Beautiful Ones.
Okay, I loved the first season of Glee, but these episodes that are featuring artists like Madonna and such are going to ruin the show. Half the fun of the show was not knowing what songs they were going to perform and then marvelling at how they actually performed them (in most cases) better than the original artists. They need to take a step back and stick with what works.
OMG! I hope this happens! i mean i will jsut die of happiness if there is an all Britney Glee episode cause the Madonna one was amazing and i love Britney Spears so my favorite TV and Favorite Music Artist coming togther will just be a dream come true for me!

Edin, she’s the most talked about because she is the most messed up and undeserving of her fame. She is a glorified dancer, NOT A SINGER. I don’t care how many records you sell, doesn’t mean you can sing. I mean take asian guy from American Idol William Hung sold over 100,000, which is high number consider he could barely talk.
But you have to consider the fact that this is only your opinion, first i disagree with that,so you can’t say that she can’t sing,,,yes she can…with her first 2 albums everyone talked about how she talented is, and know, all of a sudden she’s not…have you ever heard her singing???she may have not a great mariah carey or w. huston voice…but does madoona have???today having talent doesn’t mean having a great voice,,,it has to be a full package…and britney has it…
For your information up until Womanizer in 2008 Madonna actually had a more recent number 1 with Music in 2000, Brit Brit’s last number 1 was Baby One More Time in 1999. Madge has more hit singers, bigger tours, greatest infulence and resounding WW success. She’s been the standard for decades and will forever be the Queen of Pop.
Um “Gimme More” went to no.1 before “Womanizer”. Just saying…

I don’t see how all Billy Joel, Led Zepplin, or Courtney Love episodes would work.
Just pick a few good songs and make regular episodes. I wouldn’t hate a Britney episode but it’s still uneccessary.
NO to Britney. What has she done lately? I think this is all for the publicity to revive her career. It seems like everyone wants to hop on the Glee train now because of its pop culture status and the fact that it’ll bring the artists royality $$$.
The other artists mentioned sound intriguing, but I REALLY hope that Murphy is SELECTIVE and limits these tribute episodes to ONE a season.
What has Britney Spears done lately? She had a single jump from #96 to #1, she had a #1 album, nearly sold-out world tour, 4 top 40 hits from Circus, and is the ONLY non American Idol winner to have a song debut at #1 in 11 years. What have you done lately? All of this and you think Glee is about reviving her career.
On tour? Is she currently on tour? And she completely make a fool out herself in her last major award show appearance. I like her earlier music, but not since she had all her problems in recent yrs. And YES, I think her mgr is trying to get her music on Glee for publicity and $$$ purposes.
She just finished a tour at the very end of 2009. It went 9 months world-wide. So no, she is not currently on tour. She is recording now. As for the awards show, yes she made a fool of herself, that was in 2007 though. I just do not understand how one can sit back and say “oh that person screwed up, let’s not ever move on”.
By the way, her manager’s job is publicity and $$$. So, if she she is entertaining and he is getting her press, then I would say they are doing their jobs. If that is beyond you, then I am sorry.
Well, if she’s turning her life around and getting back on the straight and narrow, then good for her.

One or two Britney songs in an episode would be OK, but an ENTIRE episode devoted to her? Just not my cup of tea.
I respect your opinion. You’re right even, I don’t know how her singles would work on Glee. There are a lot of songs that were used as filler on her albums that are so much better than what we hear on radio. So they would probably have to go that route. I get that, about everyone wanting to be on the show too. I don’t even watch the show lol. Anyway, she seems to be doing well personally. That’s all I really care about anyway. She’s had much success, but what is it worth, if she is too messed up to enjoy it. I’m just glad that she seems like Britney again.
And I respect your opinion too. All fans want to see their favorite artists happy, healthy, and doing what they love. If Britney is getting back to her old self, then more power to her.
What’s up with the Britney hate? She’s a talented and extremely successful artist, and is the heir to Madonnas throne (GaGa to Cher) PLUS she has a huge fanbase. Id love Quinn to do Overprotected and Mercedes to do Toxic. Plus Circus, Im A Slave 4 U, and Eveytime. Oh and Lea Michele doing Not a Girl, Not Yet A Woman? Priceless
I’m hoping this full-hour thing doesn’t get out of hand, but I have to admit the idea of a full episode of Billy Joel or Ben Folds (yeah, right) music would qualify to me as the greatest thing in history.
Like it or not, Britney Spears is a pop icon. She might be a mediocre singer, but Madonna certainly falls in that category. The one thing she has that Madonna is missing though, is personality. And as for her music not being as great as Madonna’s, where is Madonna’s Grammy?
No one even knows what Britney’s real voice sounds like, it’s so heavily processed. Madonna, though she may not be the best singer out there, is a far superior vocalist to Britney, and has far more personality and talent in one finger than Britney does in her entire body. Oh yeah, and Madonna has 7 Grammys, so take that.
You’ve never heard Britney’s actual voice? Have you ever listened to one her full albums? She has a deep full voice. I am not hating on Madonna, I LOVE almost all of her work before Hard Candy. And you win on the Grammy thing. I was misinformed. However, I do not believe that she is a “far superior vocalist” to anyone. Look for Britney on youtube, she can sing. And as for personality, don’t kid yourself. Britney Spears is one the sweetest, most real celebrities. Let’s not make this a personal back and forth thing please, we are bigger than that.
Come out man, Madonna can sing CIRCLES around Brit Brit. Watch Evita, listen to Ray of Light or even American Life. Check out her Oscars in 91 performance, when Madonna isn’t dancing or performing she actually has a pretty awesome voice. Not an octave scaling one like Whitney Houston but pristine tone and pretty good control. Britney live is terrible, I’ve seen her in concert (and when she wasn’t lip syncing) she was horrific. Remember Everytime on SNL? It sounded like a cat being strangled.
