Slipknot bassist Paul Gray found dead at 38

Slipknot-Paul-Gray-diedImage Credit: Annamaria DiSantoMultiplatinum nu-metal collective Slipknot, known for their ever-present face masks, horrorcore imagery, and theatrical stage shows, lost bassist Paul Gray today; he was 38.

TMZ says, via information obtained from the Urbandale Police Department, that Gray’s body was found by an employee at an Iowa hotel early this morning, and the Des Moines Register has reported that there is no evidence of foul play; an autopsy with toxicology tests is scheduled for tomorrow, May 25.

The band’s publicist verified his death, but did not provide additional details: “I can confirm that the news is sadly true,” she tells EW, “But that is all I can offer at this time.”

      • Madonna’s Mad Acting Skillz

So does this mean he’s gonna be on the next season of LOST?

      • Madonna’s Bad Acting Skillz

Well played. Macabre, but well played.

This band is as scary as a kitten in a basket of cotton balls. They’re Kiss for the intellectually derelict and unwashed mall kids trying to provoke daddy.

You want something scary? Try Watain, or early Mayhem, or Burzum.

This isn’t to besmirch this unfortunate man’s death, or the impact it has on his fans and family and bandmates … but slipknot is really not scary.

This is what God does to people of this lifestyle, sad as it maybe, perhaps “cool kids” who like this band can learn a lesson from this. Perhaps listening to music by Justin Bieber is what God would like? I highly doubt he will die at 38.

      • Josh

ya know music is a lifestyle your so called god didnt say no to. Did he ever specify what kind of music to listen to? and to say this on a blog about Paul “The Pig” Grey? :.Slipknot junky 4lyfe.: Rest in peace #2

      • The Vidit

You must be kidding me. How do you know he didn’t live a “blessed” life. How dare you say this is God’s work. You bible thumpers are something else, what would your water walking zombie say to your condemnation? So much for live and let live and turn the other cheek.

      • DrChocolate999

        Obvious troll is obvious.

      • Debra

God does worse to people who judge; leave that job up to him. Paul was a husband and soon to be father, have some compassion. As for your comparing Justin Bieber to a Godly music figure; Who’s to say Justin Bieber won’t turn out to be another Miley Cyrus? Innocence to deviance in the blink of an eye. For Paul Gray’s Family, who you don’t have any right to say anything about, my heart is with you.

      • Jered39

        Crispy… go to hell :)

      • Jtoz

Ohh btw who said you have the right to judge ppl. you don’t know justin beber for all you know he’s smoking PCP in his hotel room with a few nasty ass hookers by the name of marie and you have to know when he turns 18 he will become a trian wreck like erry adolecent singer/actor. btw HAIL SATAN
