Image Credit: Hilary WalshJack Johnson tops Billboard‘s album chart this week. His latest set, To The Sea, debuts big with 243,000 copies sold. It’s the third No. 1 album of his career. Justin Bieber’s My World 2.0 hops up a spot to No. 2 with 52,000 units sold. Glee: The Music, Volume 3: Showstoppers slides back to No. 3, selling 45,000 copies. At No. 4, Lady Antebellum’s Need You Now holds steady selling 41,000 units.
The next two stay in the same spots they held last week. Usher‘s Raymond v. Raymond is at No. 5 with 35,000 albums sold. And Lady Gaga’s The Fame is at No. 6 with 33,000 copies sold. Carole King and James Taylor’s Live at the Troubadour jumps up two spots with 25,000 units sold. It’s No. 7.
The next highest entry on the chart is Taio Cruz‘s debut offering, Rokstarr. The album’s Ludacris-assisted lead single, “Break Your Heart” was a major hit at No. 1 on Billboard‘s Hot 100 singles chart. But that success didn’t lead to a decent opening week for his full album. It arrives at No. 8, selling 24,000 copies. American Idol alum Clay Aiken’s Tried & True comes in at No. 9 with 22,000 copies sold. And closing out the top 10, Ke$ha‘s Animal lands at No. 10 with 20,000 copies sold.
Happy Jack Johnson’s album came it at No. 1? Are you surprised Cruz did so poorly? Talk to us.

I’ll be honest. I couldn’t even name a single Jack Johnson song that I’ve recently heard on the radio. I remember some older ones though. How’d he manage a #1 spot?
I listened to Jack Johnson’s preview clips on itunes.. what a snooze fest. I guess they mass sold these to nursing homes and retirement centers. What crap and not to mention every song sounds the exact same. Buy one song basically you bought the entire album. Justin Bieber coming in 2nd is great though. He should be moving 500,000 copies per week.. but with the people of America and the things they do (oil spill in the gulf anyone?) I’m not suprised people instead flock to crap music. Jack Johnson it’s OK no one will remember this album come three weeks from now. GO BIEBER!
HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA @crispy, you are a retard
Guess what crispy , Bieber is not not even the top seller of 2010 so far, Lady Antebellum is leading him by like a million copies
Nice try but I think your lying to fit your agenda. Good one though.. really
i have proof Jackass
Boring music for boring people.
I don’t know jack Johnson. gotta go do some research on utube. brb
Its ashame more people can’t appreciate amazing music….As I Lay Dying anyone?
Who is Jack Johnson? The clips were boring I’m not buying.
He is cute as hell. His music is just dinner party music for Gen Xers, so most of you lil Yners wouldn’t care about it anymore than you would care about a new Norah Jones cd.
I’m a Gen Xer & I’m not into Jack Johnson, even during dinner time. I’ll go w/ Radiohead instead.
Johnson is muzak for mellow hipsters. ZZZZZZZZZ….As for Taio Cruz, a top 10 debut for a new artist isn’t that bad…cd’s are not selling like they used to. Top 10 with only 20K sold? You wouldn’t have made Top 40 with those numbers a few years ago.
Love Jack Johnson! Havn’t heard this album yet but love his last album Sleep through the static.
Who the heck is Jack Johnson? And why is he selling CD’s????
