Susan hasn’t done enough heroin to sing that song. Good call, Lou.

Well, Lou/Velvet Underground gave legendary alt hip-hop group A Tribe Called Quest permission to sample “Walk on The Wild Side” back in 1991 or so, when hip-hop and sampling was truly frowned upon. So for that gesture Lou Reed is forever cool in my book. Susan is simply not as rebel, underground (pun intended) and avant garde as ATCQ and hip-hop, he probably gasped when he heard she was affiliated with an American Idol production LOL.

Lou Reed made Susan Boyle cry?!? AWE-SOME.

Wonder what kind of person you are? Not too pretty inside I assume.

Lou Reed is an artist, and that fat lady won a talent show – big deal. He doesn’t want his song associated with SB, so what? Good for him. She sucks and her 15-min are over.

    • Diane

Fat? jerk. Suck? I Don’t think so. She will be around for a while. Get used to it.

I think this Diane woman needs to get as life and stop trolling around and putting everyone down for having an opinion. While I like Susan, I respect others’ right to their own opinion. It’s called personal taste and not everyone is gonna have the same personal taste. So what, they don’t like Susan. That’s their right. Get over it and move on. Just continue to love Susan and get some thicker skin and don’t give a crap what people say. In the end, all that matters is what you think. Going around attacking everyone makes you seem sad and immature and quite frankly, pathetic.

Susan Boyle ruined this song for me. Why not cover Enya or Linda Rondstadt or Fleetwood Mac? Who let this happen?? WTF???? The song has now gone from moving anthem to a little ornament. It’s cute now. Lou Reed and Boyle now need to do a duet and finish it off. It’s always been money anyway.

When Lou Reed sang “Perfect Day” it took me into another world. The haunting melody was a powerful background for his chilling voice, a voice that wasn’t pretty but was describing a feeling, a beautiful experience, from the heart. It was profound. That has always been one of my favorite songs, only because of the magnificent way it was performed…..I was happily shocked and ecstatic upon the first few notes to realize this is the same “Perfect Day” that opened Susan Boyle’s album. (I purchased it for “O Holy Night.”)I was enthralled with the beautiful, voice and the lush cinematography, creating a whole new experience with these lyrics and melody. Praise to both Lou Reed for his superb writing and haunting performance…and to Susan Boyle for her beautiful voice and lush rendition. Perfect Song.

There are a million Susan Boyles…there is only one Lou Reed.
He has the right to protect his songs…she doesn’t understand the songs meaning and shouldn’t be allowed to sing it.

I’ve tested it on MAC – working perfectly.
