Image Credit: Kevin Mazur/WireImage.comKanye West and Jay-Z‘s collaborative Watch the Throne project has grown into a full-length album. West originally announced this summer that he and his mentor were recording a five-song EP together. But in a new video interview with MTV, West revealed they have enough music for a longer release.
“We’re putting out a whole album now,” West said. “We did like five [songs] so far, and then a few of them kind of were out there, and I put them on my album. Sorry, Jay!” He was presumably referring to tracks like “Monster” and “So Appalled,” which he has offered as free downloads. “But we’ve got some more, and we’re going to the south of France at the end of this month just to record our ideas.”
Thus far no specific release plans for the project have been announced. Think we’ll ever get to hear Watch the Throne? Speak up in the comments.

English mother******, do you speak it?
one of the best comments of all forums online! i agree, type in english, not whatever that was. and long live pulp fiction and samuel l. jackson!
Why are you assuming that both of them are drug dealers? Jay, supposedly, did deal coke, but former mentor Jaz-O has made past allegation that he is putting on a front. As for Kanye West; his mother was a university professor and his father a former Black Panther. Never has Kanye claimed to ever have been a drug dealer or been accused of being one. I think you need to take your head out of your ass and do some search before you make such accusations and assumptions about a couple of rappers.
You rock, you’re absolutly right. At least someone said it!
Have u ever smoked crack? What a rush! Damn I miss it!
Do your history before you voice your opinion!
Youre an idiot, Kanye never sold crack.
LOL, Larry you are such fraking looser… “I bet ya didn’t go to class Bueller…..”
Wow, I wonder if Larry realizes just how ignorant he sounds. Kanye has never been a drug dealer and Jay-Z probably lied about himself doing it. To assume about people is to make yourself look like a jackass. I guess when your some 40-year old white guy living off of minimum wage, you can’t help but to be jealous of people who are more successful.
Larr Daivd you sir are a racist…. this is a entetainment page, not all black people sell drugs and because Jayz and Kanye make millions don’t get jealous man. Get your business together and stop hating on black entertainers you bigot!!!!
making assumptions makes an ass out of you and me
I can’t wait for this album! Jay-Z is awesome and Kanye is the most interesting artist working today. Every artist ahead of his/her time have had a chorus of dullards raging against them. All the hardcore haters are really racists, or else they’re confused and enraged by anything new or different.
I almost passed out from awesomeness.
Love Jay and LOVE Kanye. This is a must-buy. The way the two of these artists challenge each other is pure gold, nay, platinum. They have such a healthy competition, like a sibling rivalry, and we (the fans) will benefit from it beyond belief. I can’t wait to hear how they take their artistry to the next level.
wow!! those guys can afford the best drum machines and computerized samples $$$ can buy! and if you realy like hearing the word M******** when you listen to music, you’re in for a treat!
I went to a live Jay-Z show and the dude had a full backing band. No drum machines there.
I’ve heard Jay-Zs “music” and it sounds totally machinated and laced with intense profanity. supposedly rappers here and there are using bands to gain a little musical credibility. until I hear a Jay-Z “song” that doesn’t sound like a mix of computers and filthy language, I’ll stick to my view.
@outside agitator:
Stick to your Glenn Miller and Dinah Shore, then.
they’re before my time but at Glenn Miller was a musician and Dinah Shore could sing. that’s more than Jay-Z and Kanye can do. take away the machines and profanity and those guys would be lost.
dude are you kidding, kanye is an excellent musician he can play the keys like no ones business, you couldn’t use a drum machine like kanye. that takes some talent man. have you heard the guys samples, if it was easy then everyone could be super producers
would be the most anticipated album this year next to Dark Twisted Fantasy
you are a racist and you know it. If cursing offends you then listen to Gospel and watch the Hallmark channel and stop commenting on entertainment websites.
actually, I’ve got a vast collection of black music dating back to the early 20th century. just because I describe rap as the mechanized garbage it is doesn’t make me racist. it DOES mean you have no argument in its favor. otherwise you wouldn’t have to resort to baseless insults.
Sadly I think this is release is going to get caught in Record Label Purgatory/Limbo, much like that much hyped T-Wayne album a few years ago. The problem is Jay is no longer signed to Universal/Def Jam, which I mentioned may be part of the reason none of their collaborations have been released digitally until “Monster” earlier today. (Genius in the sense that its the week of Halloween and finally releasing that title for sale!) Jay’s “Blueprint 3″ was released through a subsidiary of Warner Bros. & since there is still no definitive date about the Greatest Hits disc Def Jam sought to release next month to complete Jay’s contract…I think all this “Watch The Thrown” chatter is going to be ALL hype, but no release. This has nothing to do with how hopt the music may be, its all contractual and record politics, which I believe is the truth since there was never a release date for the EP either.
Getting this and My Beautiful Dark Twisted Fantasy! KANYEEZY AND JIGGA JAY Z!!!!
Seems the Devil is keeping his children quite busy! Idiots!
And you are doing exactly what the devil wants you wants you to do! And you dont get it!
I think if you like music then you should like all of the different kinds, music is not a racist adventure unless some fool, attemps to sway the rest of us who really enjoy all the music that is offered by the various artist, into his or her one tone-one beat-one station type stupidity, check out the rest of the radio dial the world is also in music. Nuff Sed
That album is gonna be EPIC!!!!
Worst news I’ve heard all year,Kanye is more ego than talent.Jay-Z is only at best..average.
It’s gonna be a good album, but these things never go ahead. If they did go ahead, I’d much rather listen to the never recorded/released Ice Cube and Dr.Dre album ‘Helter Skelter’ or the Eminem and 50 Cent album ‘Black or White’. There’s plenty that offers more variety than these two.
illumaniti calobo…more garbage to destroy our youths
This is going to be a HOT album! I’m just imagining the smokestacks and some funky hip-hop beats and one nonstop hot cut after another with lyricism! And lots of tradeoffs on the songs on their own 16 bars and going through their passages of lyrics in their songs! Jay-Z’s smooth raps and Kanye West’s bombastic, outspoken lyrics back and forth on those songs is going to be hot on a full album! Look forward to getting it and actually hearing it!
