Reed’s manager confirms that the Velvet Underground godhead did indeed create the concept for the Loch Lomond-filmed clip—but didn’t in fact direct it or even travel to Scotland for the shoot, as several news outlets have erroneously reported.

Lou Reed must be freaking bored.
Lou looks like he needs a makeup of the surgical kind….but that video is boring…Her singing is generic….I hate Simon for unleashing her on the American public just like I hate McCain for unleashing Palin.
You harbor a lot of hate.
It’s a beautiful ballad with a beautiful video. Moody and dramatic. I like it!!
This video is stunning. “Mists of Avalon” good analogy. Susan’s rendition of A Perfect Day is hauntingly beautiful. Finding this “boring” says more about the listener than the singer. Brilliant photography. Brilliant singer.
I agree. Beautiful to watch and listen to.
sweet jesus…. she looks like & sounds like she swallowed enya. Why do I see this turning into a tourism spot for scotland?
Just came back from a vacation in the Scottish highlands. This video is so much better than those hundreds of pictures I took that crashed my computer. The beauty of the highlands is captured simply with Boyle’s sublime voice.
The video really fits the song, and gives Susan Boyle a whole new look. She was on the UK show Piers Morgan Lifestories this weekend, rather interesting interview for a lady who has become an international sensation. Look up the interview on youtube. Well done video.
This is great. Who needs drugs when you’ve got Susan Boyle’s voice and the Scottish highlands?
Really gorgeous: The sublime voice of Susan Boyle and singing at the beautiful Loch Lomond. How I’d love to visit there some day SOON. Stunning concept.
The photography was as beautiful as the voice.
well you know what? I think she has a classic voice and she is good and I liked this video with her song-she is very refreshing. very soothing too-and I will buy her music as long as she keeps making music-she is a change from the normal ratrace of singers
fromchicago Ya well we hate you and your state for unleashing Obama on us can you take him and his change back please. I will listen to her new cd and hope it blocks out all the bad news about the direction of change this country has been headed in.
If Lou Reed doesn’t have any objections about this cover, why should anybody else? I love Susan and hope she continues to sing for a very long time.
I love Susan and her beautiful voice. Although not everyone is going to like any one singer, thus I don’t expect everyone to like Susan’s singing, it seems to me that too many of the negative comments about Susan are spiteful, rather than being an honest critique. I applaud her for never letting the hate-mongers keep her down! BRAVO Susan!
Susan’s voice must be a gift from God because her voice is simply magnificent and impressive.
