i’m a little concerned with the whole lady gaga album in may and release in febuary but i think that the two really can’t be compared the may have similar sounds and fans but the have diffenrent lyric types gaga is more artistic and britney is more relatable
I don’t think album sales will be affected by the competition. Britney’s problem is herself and how much promo she’ll do. 3 went #1 with no promo. Circus was #1 and had first week sales over 500,000 with only one GMA performance. Imagine if she did do promo like Lady Gaga. I think the competition between each other will be when awards season comes around at the end of the year.
I don’t consider Gaga and Britney similiar artists. I think a person can be fans of both because they offer something very different. Gaga has always pushed the envelope artistically and she’s basically a walking piece of performance art. Britney has pushed the envelope sexually, in the sense that there’s something intriguing about such suggestive music coming from someone once thought to be very innocent (albeit no longer). Both are amazing performers, inspired by some elements of hip-hop, but they are great performers for different reasons. Britney’s a phenomenal dancer/performer, Gaga’s a great visual artist who does better with live singing. To be frank, Gaga probably has better vocals, but I have more Britney songs on my iPod. The chick knows how to deliver sultry pop like no other. I hope her new album does well and wish her continued success. She’s a fighter and a hard worker; those are characteristics deserving of respect.
I seriously question the sanity of ANYONE who thinks Britney Spears is even remotely talented. People talk about Gaga being overrated, but at least Gaga has verifiable talent, regardless of how one feels about her music. But Britney… I do not understand the appeal at all. Her songs are generic. She is a lame performer. She doesn’t sing live. She has no creative control over her music. She is the definition of a puppet. Honestly, she has as much talent as Ke$ha and Katy Perry, not to mention LESS. Yet she has had one of the most enduring careers in music history. But she’s a modern day Milli Vanilli. Looks and sex appeal certainly cannot take her far forever, I mean she’s already starting to go in the department. So… why do people still like her? I mean, I could understand her popularity from ’98-’04, because the majority of her fanbase were preteens and teens. But now those people have grown up, and I assume have been exposed to real talent and better music… and they still worship Britney. Why?
Britney blows. Too much reliance on auto-tune.
Britney, WHO?! Really with Britney? She is about as relevant to pop music as Lindsay Lohan is to acting! LOL!
That song is just awesome
Isn’t parts of this song a remake? If so, help me remember the name of the song and the year it was out PLEASE……going nuts trying to remember.
