Bob Dylan reportedly signs six-book deal

bob-dylanImage Credit: Douglas R. Gilbert/Redferns/Getty ImagesBob Dylan is putting pen to paper again. Crain’s New York Business reports that the great singer-songwriter has signed a six-book deal with Simon & Schuster. The deal would reportedly cover two more volumes of Dylan’s Chronicles memoir series, another book based on his Sirius XM satellite radio show, and three more unspecified books.

None of this has been officially confirmed just yet (Simon & Schuster declined to comment), but it’s exciting news for Dylan fans. Chronicles: Volume One, published in 2004, danced through his career in unexpected ways, leaving readers eager to see where he’d go next. EW called that first memoir “a strikingly candid, endlessly fascinating tome” in our review at the time. I can’t wait to read volumes two and three — not to mention those mysterious three other books — whenever they come out.

What do you think of this news? Which periods of Dylan’s career would you like to see him revisit in the next two Chronicles?

The Infidels/Empire Burlesque era. they’re both very under-rated and were an extremely creative period in his career. then possibly the Blood on the Tracks/Desire/Rolling Thunder Review era. of course, knowing Dylan…we’ll get 500 pages on Slow Train Coming and Saved. god, religion fraks up alotta people. I’m looking at you Prince.

Bumblebee AMEN! Many wish that Tom’s career would be over, even Redstone wishe and tguhhot so and look he admitted he was so wrong. Libraesque and her friends are just disgrantled Brangeloonies because Brad and Angelina are sinking from the latest figures of Babel and TGS. Fortune named Tom and the biggest star of 2006 and I bet that will be the case of 2007 and I bet Libraesque and co cannot handle that! First Redstone, I wonder who next! Tom has so much power in hollywood that is why every one licks his ass and will continue licking it for years to come.Oh you he is falling’ sayers, heard about his deal with Merryl Lynch for UA? Just you watch, he is laughing all the way to the bank.

He was the first singer I ever saw with subtitles during his song because you couldn’t understand what he was saying. How many times can you type the word mumble?

I am excited that he is writing something about his old radio show. I am a huge fan of “Theme Time Radio Hour” with Bob Dylan. In my opinion, listening to his song selections gives the most clear look into his musical genious and past inspirations.
