Taylor Swift professed her love for Nicki Minaj yesterday while doing a segment for a Nashville radio station. After some goading from an almost super-humanly grating host, young Swift showed off her rapping skills and fired off a few lines from “Super Bass.”
I don’t know how well I thought Taylor Swift would rap, but that was passable!

I live in Nashville and listen to 107.5. That is not the main host. His radio name is “Intern Adam” and he is possibly the most annoying personality on any type of media. The hosts aren’t much better, though. I just really enjoyed what they did for Taylor. She brings personality to any radio show.
a taylor / nikki duet would be awesome, especially some rock-a-billy hip-hip infused jam. like an electric banjo type thing? sounds weird, but it would be a number one hit, trust me.
That’s nothing. I’m a grown man and I can rap Nicki’s entire part from “Monster” and I do regularly when alone in my car. Sometimes, I get glances from other drivers when I scream, “I’M A MOTHERF*CKIN’ MONSTAH!!!!” at the end. (Just realizing how sad this post is.)

Nicki is garbage and barely passes as hip hop. Her album is as pop as any Katy Perry, Kesha or Britney album. Just because you rhyme words doesn’t make it rap.

No not really. I just saw this when I was trying to find a review of Cee Lo’s album here. I grew up in Harlem, we listened to hip hop 24/7. We know a thing about real hip hop, we want a female MC to succeed and bring some light into that lane again. But Nicki Minaj is a fake, she’s not rap. Her lyrics are so dumbed down that you’d have to be a moron to think it was anything like poetry or that it has any rhythm. So yes, she’s a pop artist, not a rap star.

I think that Taylor Swift’s one of the few country singers that’s into a lot of diverse music genres, especially the pop songs and some ’80s rock, even some rap artists. As well as country. Her fellow country singer friends are more conservative and listen to only country. But Taylor rapping to Nicki Minaj? She must have Nicki’s CD in the 6-CD car changer in her car,because she was on with her rapping of Nicki’s song! I hope they do a song together, maybe get a lesser known producer to handle the song and play the music on it. I think the music will be more urban/hip-hop with Taylor singing over it in the choruses and Nicki rapping her verses.
