Taylor Swift loves Nicki Minaj, raps 'Super Bass'

Taylor Swift professed her love for Nicki Minaj yesterday while doing a segment for a Nashville radio station. After some goading from an almost super-humanly grating host, young Swift showed off her rapping skills and fired off a few lines from “Super Bass.”

I don’t know how well I thought Taylor Swift would rap, but that was passable!

Are you hearing the boom badoom boom on this, Music Mixers? How far do you think we are from a Nicki Minaj/Taylor Swift collaboration?

Bruno can write these solid melodic songs! I think he should write a song on Taylor’s next album, maybe sing with her on it, while producer Nathan Chapman handles the bulk of her album.

    • Caprice

I 2nd that notion too, but Taylor getting some flicka help from Nicki would be too awesome also. Oh yeahhhh!

Doesn’t the DJ have the same voice of the DJ Jimmy Fallon use to do on SNL?

    • LOL

That DJ is a clown. How does that freak get work? No wonder radio is dying.

  • Jobless

That guy is a real radio host? On a real radio station that people actually listen to? Good god.

    • Matt

He’s the token gay. The celebrity-lovin’, gossip queen for the morning show. He does seem like he has fun doing what he does. So good for him on that one.

        That’s kinda stereotypical. just sayin’

  • HC

I knew there was a reason that whenever I talk about Taylor Swift I address her as T Swizzy…

I live in Nashville and listen to 107.5. That is not the main host. His radio name is “Intern Adam” and he is possibly the most annoying personality on any type of media. The hosts aren’t much better, though. I just really enjoyed what they did for Taylor. She brings personality to any radio show.

a taylor / nikki duet would be awesome, especially some rock-a-billy hip-hip infused jam. like an electric banjo type thing? sounds weird, but it would be a number one hit, trust me.

  • RFK

That’s nothing. I’m a grown man and I can rap Nicki’s entire part from “Monster” and I do regularly when alone in my car. Sometimes, I get glances from other drivers when I scream, “I’M A MOTHERF*CKIN’ MONSTAH!!!!” at the end. (Just realizing how sad this post is.)

    • AshleyBrooke

I would absolutely love to see this! I have no idea what you look like but I can just picture this! I happened to rap this at the top of my lungs too.

      • RFK

Lol, I’m a large Italian man! Maybe I’ll upload a video of it!

    • Marcus

Don’t worry, I do it too.

    • D2

Guilty, i rap nickis verse from Monster almost daily..

  • yournightmare

She is just too cute for words…glad to have somebody like her for kids to look up to.

    • Jonathan

      Totally agree

  • UGH

She really looks awkward just standing there. Don’t they offer their guests a seat?
    Bad radio at it’s worst.

  • 3r

    So cute.

  • MJ

It’s really awesome that she loves rap music. Genres are stupid. Nicki recently said she listens to Taylor’s music and would do a duet with her. Now Taylor is rapping Nicki’s lyrics. They need to hook up!

    • Dennis

Can you imagine Taylor doing “Roman’s Revenge” with Taylor? Whoa….

      • Dennis

Whoa…. I meant Taylor doin’ the song with Nicki. lol

      • Caprice

OMG that would totally freak all the devout Taylor fans.

  • Remi

Nicki is garbage and barely passes as hip hop. Her album is as pop as any Katy Perry, Kesha or Britney album. Just because you rhyme words doesn’t make it rap.

    • Toni

Yet somehow I’m willing to bet that you chase down every article on her to spit your venom… Why…? Because she’s such garbage and you just can’t help yourself… Priceless…

      • Remi

No not really. I just saw this when I was trying to find a review of Cee Lo’s album here. I grew up in Harlem, we listened to hip hop 24/7. We know a thing about real hip hop, we want a female MC to succeed and bring some light into that lane again. But Nicki Minaj is a fake, she’s not rap. Her lyrics are so dumbed down that you’d have to be a moron to think it was anything like poetry or that it has any rhythm. So yes, she’s a pop artist, not a rap star.

  • Luke

oh god I love this chick! I knew there’s a reason why I super adore her!! talented, hot and genuine!

  • Dennis

Nicki has rapped with every conceivable artist in the past year, so why not with Taylor? I think it would be totally awesome.

    • Caprice

If Taoi Cruz can do a collabo with Kylie Minogue then Taylor can do the deed with Nicki. Oh yeahhh totally freakin’ awesome if were to drop.

  • PN

I think that Taylor Swift’s one of the few country singers that’s into a lot of diverse music genres, especially the pop songs and some ’80s rock, even some rap artists. As well as country. Her fellow country singer friends are more conservative and listen to only country. But Taylor rapping to Nicki Minaj? She must have Nicki’s CD in the 6-CD car changer in her car, because she was on with her rapping of Nicki’s song! I hope they do a song together, maybe get a lesser known producer to handle the song and play the music on it. I think the music will be more urban/hip-hop with Taylor singing over it in the choruses and Nicki rapping her verses.
