Seth MacFarlane's album will include duets with Norah Jones, Sara Bareilles -- EXCLUSIVE

Seth-MacFarlaneYou may have heard that Family Guy creator Seth MacFarlane is recording a big band album, but check out the freakin’ sweet vocal pipes that he’s just added to the mix. EW has learned exclusively that MacFarlane sings duets with Norah Jones and Sara Bareilles on Music is Better Than Words, which features orchestral big band arrangements of “hidden gems from the ’40s and ’50s.”  Jones joins MacFarlane on “Two Sleepy People,” while Bareilles croons with him on “Love Won’t Let You Get Away.” Music is Better Than Words will be released by Universal Republic Records in September.

        You have selected…FAME!

  • Linney17

Could he, perhaps, focus on writing a funny script for his current TV shows instead? Family Guy hasn’t been funny in a while and American Dad has never been funny.

    • Rich

If you don’t find them funny, why are you watching them?

      • Linney17

Who said I was anymore? I actually stopped watching Family Guy and never got into American Dad. I used to love Family Guy and I kind of hold out hope that Seth will show me something better. He clearly has the talent but it’s just not as good as it used to be.

      • MDS

If you haven’t been watching them how do you know they’re not funny?

      • Linney17

What is this, the Inquisition? I catch a few minutes here and there and have caught a couple episodes. I don’t go out of my way to watch them anymore is the point. I don’t DVR them because I haven’t been impressed for a long time. Jeez. Did Seth hire you bozos to defend his honor or something?

    • Tyson

      You’re wrong on both accounts.

      • Linney17

        And you’re a d-bag.

American Dad actually became pretty good as it went on. Easily the funniest thing he’s made. But you’re right about Family Guy. It’s borderline unwatchable now.

        Reggie the Koala FTW!

      American Dad is freakin’ hysterical.

Pretty much, almost everyone who watches Family Guy knows that Seth can sing.

Seth and I are related through Elder Brewster, who came over on the Mayflower. Musicians are very common in the Brewster lineage.

SWEET!!! I can’t wait! I was hoping that he would do this. He has such a gorgeous voice.

  • JKH

He sang on Conan this week; I was really impressed with his live performance!

    life sucks

  • snurfles

Can’t wait! Seth has an amazing singing voice and the duets will be awesome! I wish he’d written some original stuff, though. He’s such a talented songwriter.

  • snurfles

Oh, and to the person who doesn’t think American Dad is funny, you haven’t watched it enough. As far as I’m concerned, it’s the funniest of all of Seth’s cartoons. And no, I don’t work for him, I’m just a fan.
