Image Credit: FoxJustin Timberlake‘s been teasing fans of his singing for a while now. It’s been more than four years since his last album. Billy Ray Cyrus: 'Hannah Montana destroyed my family'
Image Credit: Dave Hogan/Getty ImagesIt’s a Disney story without a happy ending: In the latest issue of GQ, Billy Ray Cyrus says that the fourth and final season of Hannah Montana, the show that made his daughter Miley a superstar, was “a disaster.”
“I was going to work every single day knowing that my family had fallen apart, but yet I had to sit in front of that camera,” he tells the magazine. “The damn show destroyed my family. And I sit there and go, ‘Yeah, you know what? Some gave all.’ It is my motto, and guess what? I have to eat that one. I some-gave-all’d it all right. I some-gave-all’d it while everybody else was going to the bank. It’s all sad.”
As for his daughter, he says, “I’m scared for her. She’s got a lot of people around her that’s putting her in a great deal of danger. I know she’s 18, but I still feel like as her daddy I’d like to try to help. Take care of her just a little bit, to at least get her out of danger. I want to get her sheltered from the storm. Stop the insanity just for a minute.” READ FULL STORY »
Lady Gaga talks Grammy egg, Madonna comparisons on 'Leno' tonight: Watch the video
For the record, it’s a “vessel,” not an egg.
And also? There’s no song-thief beef between Madge and the Lady. ”There is really no one that is a more adoring and loving Madonna fan than me,” Gaga tells Jay Leno on tonight’s show. “I am the hugest fan personally and professionally.”
“The good news is that I got an e-mail from her people and her,” she says, “sending me their love and complete support on behalf of the single, and if the queen says it shall be, then it shall be.”
See the interview in its entirety later tonight, and watch an excerpt below in the meantime: READ FULL STORY »
Our Valentine's Day gift to you: An exclusive preview of Whitesnake's new romantic rocker
Image Credit: Ash NewellHere we go again on the most romantic day of the year, sitting at our most unsexy work station, trying to figure out what to get you before the still of the night arrives. Instead of a chocolate heart filled with tiny teddy bears, dearest Music Mixers, might we interest you in something with a little bite to it—perhaps an exclusive preview of the new Whitesnake single? The rockers kick romance into high gear on “Love Will Set You Free,” which can be found on their new album Forevermore (Mar. 29). We are guessing that it is best enjoyed while racing around town in a Jaguar XJ, or even rolling around on the hood of a stationary one. (What? Now you’re looking at us like we once considered using “I don’t know where I’m going/but I sure know where I’ve been” as our high school yearbook quote.) In any case, Whitesnake fans can sigh in relief: Sounds like frontman David Coverdale, 59, has healed from the vocal injury that forced the band to cut short its 2009 tour. Press play and tell us: Is this love? READ FULL STORY »
Drake's forthcoming album 'Take Care': The producer spills details to EW
Image Credit: Lester Cohen/WireImage.comDrake and record producer Boi-1da have a lot in common: They’re both 24, Canucks, kinda big deals in the hip-hop scene, and have Grammy nominations under their belts. Now, they’re working on an album together for a second time—specifically, Drake’s second and forthcoming disc, Take Care. Last night on the Grammy Awards’ red carpet, EW snaked a few hints from producer Boi-1da, who shared his thoughts on his buddy’s forthcoming oeuvre.
“It is amazing stuff. A lot of rapping, more than on the last album,” Boi-1da told us. “He is trying to go in a slightly different direction, but stay consistent enough to give the fans what they want. He is more confident, and sure that what he is doing, he’s doing right. That opens artists up to trying new things and experimenting.”
Glenn Beck calls Muse's Grammys performance 'a call for revolution'
Image Credit: Ted Axelrod/Fox News; Michael Caulfield/WireImage.comMuse fan Glenn Beck, who labeled the band as “libertarian” on his Twitter after the release of The Resistance, has once again taken to name-checking the group, this time during his radio show. Following the group’s performance at the Grammys last night — which highlighted a famous photo of Prince Charles and Camilla getting mobbed by protesters in December — the right-wing radio host suggested “Uprising” was inciting revolution. “You have basically a call for revolution by this group,” Beck said. “Now, you have to remember these are Europeans, and they have been degraded for a very long time. Really, since the beginning of time. They have had very few glimpses of real freedom, even when England won the Second World War. They didn’t go into freedom. That’s where the Road to Serfdom came from.” READ FULL STORY »
