It took only one song—Katy Perry’s “Teenage Dream”—for Blaine (Darren Criss) and the Warblers to become fan favorites on Glee. So, it’s only natural that the Warblers will be getting their own album due this April, according to Fox.
The series’ will release its fifth soundtrack album tomorrow, which includes season two tunes like “Thriller/Heads Will Roll” and “Take Me Or Leave Me.” It’s unclear what the track listing for the Warblers album will be but safe bets are “Teenage Dream,” “Hey, Soul Sister,” and “When I Get You Alone.” This week, Blaine and the Warblers (including Kurt) tackle Neon Trees’ “Animal.” Listen below to their cover:

The Beezlebubs from the Sing Off are actually the Warblers?
I didn’t recognize them. Do they just do the vocal recordings or are they playing the actors as well?
From what I understand they are just the recording artists. They were in the Teenage Dream episode, but I think they actually brought in actors to play the roles on the show after that.
An interview I read with the Bubs is that at the time of the interview they hadn’t meat Darren Criss, though they’d provided the arrangement and backing tracks for his lead vocals. The actors playing the Warblers are actors, not the Bubs.

The Bubs are teh actual voices of the Warblers, other than Darren, but the boys who play the Warblers on screen do sing on Glee…infact on almost all the songs. They provide the backup vocals for the songs on the show. So the only time they aren’t actually singing, is when they’re on camera.

They sound VERY electronically altered. How about just going with their natural voices?
It’s because they can’t actually sing
actually daren criss can sing. if you seen him live you know this. unfortunately most people only know him from glee where a lot of work is done on the voices there.
Darren Criss has a background in musical theater and can absolutely sing. The Tufts Beelzebubs can sing (as evidenced by season one of The Sing-Off). Hence, the Warblers can sing. The people who produce Glee, on the other hand, seem to think that if they auto-tune some of their actors, they need to auto-tune all of them – even the ones who don’t need it.

He can sing alright but people act like he is something super special and he is just good. He does seem to like the sound of his own voice cause he will sing on the street corner if someone smiles at him. He needs to tone it down and take off the lame pink glasses.
Darren Criss, unlike many newcomers to television, already had a huge internet following before joining the Glee cast. Criss is a talented musician and actor and his fans happen to love the “lame pink sunglasses”. Less than a year ago, he was just an internet “celebrity” who made musicals about Harry Potter and covers of Disney songs. He obviously isn’t going to alienate that fan-base by getting rid of the things that made them love him in the first place- to do so would be a mistake.

Is it just me, or does it seem like the Beelzebubs only did “Hey Soul Sister” and “Teenage Dream”, and everything since then has been, well, the voice patch on a keyboard? The back-up for “When I Get You Alone” sounds awful and VERY fake.
No, that’s what good acapella sounds like. If you’ve got a good vocal percussionist, that is. Of course, some of these warblers do sound digitally altered. I wish they would stop doing that. Acapella is great when it’s natural…
So Darren Criss and Milli Vanilli will have an album out? Fantastic! Seriously, why have actors/dancers lip synching onscreen to songs they never sang when they could have just as easily gotten the actual guys? Are the Beelzebulbs ugly or something?
The actual guys are university students, not actors. I imagine they’re busy in class and studying.
