Matthew Morrison and Gwyneth Paltrow have already proven they have great onscreen chemistry as lovestruck teachers Will Schuester and Holly Holliday on Glee. (The actress pops up again on the April 19 episode.) Now the pair are hoping that energy translates to the recording studio. EW has learned exclusively that Morrison and the Country Strong star will duet on his self-titled adult-contemporary album, scheduled to drop this May 10. Morrison asked Paltrow to sing on the album during her work on Glee, but admits the conversation was slightly awkward. “The hardest part of doing this album was asking these people favors, like Elton [John] and her,” says the actor. “I’m so not that guy.” Luckily, choosing the song for their collaboration was much easier. The pair will be covering a tune very familiar to Morrison and his Glee fans: the classic “Over the Rainbow.” The actor auditioned for Glee with the song and performed it on the series’ season 1 finale. “People kind of know me for that song now,” says Morrison. “I wanted to do a duet with a female. I thought that was a good song to do, and we really did a different arrangement of it. It’s a lot of strings, and it’s beautiful.”

For my money, you can never get enough “Over the Rainbow”. However, Leona Lewis would have been a better choice to sing a duet with. I saw Morrison and Lewis do a duet of it at O2 arena and they were magical.

Totally agree, stick to acting Gwyneth (and preferably not on Glee where you make me want to throw something every time you are on screen).
Odd, I have that exact same feeling every time I’ve watched Glee. I had just assumed it was a result of the show’s two dimensional characters, wooden acting, unbelievably inconsistent and atrocious writing, and the most unnecessary lead character on television.

is it me, or is he (MM) kind of a tool? I heard his song and it sounds extraordinarily vanilla, and kinda “look at me and my boring face and my boring abs, sing this boring song” Not sure why he upsets me so much. I’ve got to get a life.

Yep you do need to get a life. From what I’ve read he is a decent, talented and charitable guy. Plus, he has plenty of talent that doesn’t get showcased on Glee. I saw him on Broadway and he kicks ass.

I would love to know why people feel the need to spread such hate and dislike. It is amazing that everyone has such strong opinions about something that no one is holding a gun to their head to watch or listen to. Haven’t any of you heard of a remote control? If they are sooo anoying to you do not watch! Simple solution! No need to bash people. I look at these posts and read the articles because I love the show. Why would you read an article about a show, star, whatever, that you do not like and then feel the need to let the world know of your hate.
I agree with you Jan. If you all want to be haters, don’t watch the show. I’m beginning to think some of you haters don’t know how to use the remote.
I wasn’t going to buy his CD before this, and I’m certainly not going to buy it knowing that Paltrow is on it. I agree with those who said her singing is mediocre at best. Heck, I’m not a big fan of her acting, either. I’m disappointed to hear she’ll be back not only this season, but next season too.
I can’t wait til she joins the Rolling Stones.

everyone in Hollywood seems to be in love with Paltrow, I get the feeling she is extremely cool. I had always thought she was a talented actress and of course stunning but then I saw her on the Marriage Ref last year and she seems so genuine and laid back with a very dry sense of humor. It shocks me whenever I see so much hate for her, I really don’t get it, it comes off as nothing more than jealousy; you can’t fake genuine
