Song of the summer alert! With their mid-tempo love cut “Next 2 You,” Chris Brown and Justin Bieber might have the jam pop radio will be spinning for months to come.
This morning, Brown released the apocalyptic video for his latest single. “One day when the sky is falling/ I’ll be standing right next to you/ Nothing will ever come between us/ ’cause I’ll be standing right next to you,” the two sing on the hook. And their promises are certainly tested in the clip. The world’s coming to an end, literally tearing the fellas away from their ladies.

Justin’s particularly excited about his collaboration with Brown. Before he was pop culture’s prom king, the mop-headed youngster covered Brown’s 2007 smash “With You.” The Youtube clip, along with a host of others, led to him earning a record deal.
“It’s here,” Bieber tweeted this morning. “[I've gone] from singing Chris Brown’s “With You” in my apartment to this. Dream big. Thanks. Epic.”

Having never heard this song before I didn’t want to like it but watching the video clip I can’t help but admit to being extremely impressed! This is a great video and the singing by both Justin and Chris work really well together. I hope it recieves a lot of airplay this summer and becomes a big hit.

I agree. They’re singing to each other in the song, not to their “girls”. Its a very cute sweet uptempo gay love song. I love it. Also, Chris Brown’s whole album “F.A.M.E.” is pretty awesome, full of super erotic single entendre sex songs. Very good; I hadn’t expected that.

Just listening to the lyrics “One day when the sky is falling…” I guess that’s where the director gets the creative license to create this apocolypse, but YEAH I’m with everyone else, makes little to no sense.
Anyways, Britney (same record label) already came with the dancing at the end of the world video and did it much better (“Dance Til The World Ends” not the 1st one where she looks lethargic) and Brown is still seeking a top 40 hit. “Yeah X3″ peaked at #15 on the Billboard Hot 100, top 40 barely touched the top 10 “Look at Me Now” (And before anyone starts with me, THE ONLY reason that went top 10 is because there are more Urban stations in the country than any other, so their spins, along with digital sales make it easier for an R&B/Hip-hop song to go top 10 CHECK YOUR FACTS before Team Beezy starts talkin’ smack). “She Ain’t You” even with the MJ sample didn’t take off at top 40 where Brown is still kyrptonite. His song with Pitbull “International Love” is good though…I hope since he’s only featured on it, it’ll become a pop hit.
So Phil, are you suggesting that Urban stations and their followers “don’t really count” towards a single’s perceivd hit status? Are you also implying that digital sales “don’t really count”???
