Taylor Swift, who’s always kinda shocked about something, now takes pride in causing her fans to make the Surprised Face.
And she’s been extremely successful at achieving that during her Speak Now tour by covering hometown artists from each stop.
In Toronto, she played a Canadian medley that included Justin Bieber’s “Baby,” Alanis Morissette’s “You Learn,” and Tal Bachman’s “She’s So High” (though—you guys!—she totally wasn’t).
In Newark, New Jersey, during a set that we reviewed in EW, it was Bon Jovi’s “Livin’ On a Prayer” and Bruce Springsteen’s “Dancing in the Dark.” And just last Wednesday, she performed Eminem’s “Lose Yourself” for Grand Rapids, Michigan, segueing into a cover of Uncle Kracker’s “Smile.”
We don’t know what we like more about this clip, that Taylor’s so gratified by shouting “Yo!” or that billions of preteen girls know every single word to an Uncle Kracker song. Watch Swift pay tribute to Eminem’s mom’s spaghetti after the jump.

I’m not a Taylor Swift hater. Indeed, I enjoy her music despite how formulaic her songwriting is. But these concerts are just so twee. Not Taylor, but the audience. If I paid those ticket prices and Ticketmaster surcharges, I would want to hear the music, not a bunch of tweens singing along.

she doesn’t have anorexia. she play a 2 hour-concert every night, it’s like a 2 hour cardio plus she doesn’t diet. the things people make up just to hate. sigh.

I have to say, the more I see this young lady perform, the more impressed I am- she really understands hows to entertain, pay tribute, and stay true to herself, all at the same time. A really good role model for young girls who want to know how far hard work can take them.
Taylor’s too cute. I still don’t understand how people can say she has no musical talent, I find her wonderful.

I’m not really a fan of Taylor’s, but I truly did enjoy this. I think it’s a wonderful idea to pay tribute to the musicians and music from each town she visits on her tour.
