Coming on the heels of Indiana’s investigation of Notre Dame’s tragedy, the State of Indiana holds a lot of blame. There was a union that was hired to work this event, Stage Hand #30. Why did they not respond? Conner Prairie Symphony evacuated just 15 minutes away. The state/Sugarland had no weather plan. Also, Sugarland has a contract that gave them “full control over production” and they hung their lights and rigs on the stage. That contract needs to be investigated. If not, another “wind gust” in Indiana is going to be catastrophic. Workers at ND, Stage Union 30 and Sugarland have to be saavy enough to have to read meterological reports in this day and age and get inspections of their equipment.

This is what you get when you vote republican…They hate gov so much they cut money to gov enforcement in favor of making money at all cost.. Its not just republicans who are at fault…dems have caved everytime on any issue brought forth. And finally the voters of Indiana all have blood on their hands for what happened. They voted for greedy republicans and because the dems were wimps with no spines.

You can evacuate when heavy storms approach. There was plenty of chance/time to do this, and yet no one did.

    Sugarland stage collapse: Safety lessons?

    1. Never date a fat chick.
    2. If you ignore #1, never take her to an outdoor concert. It’s better to be on the ground instead of having all that ass shifting the stands around.

The reason the venues print rain or shine is that all the bands, agents and managers have language in the contract demanding 100% of their guarantee to be paid if the show is cancelled due to weather if it is outdoors. The will accept none of the financial risk for a weather cancellation. The other problem is that “rain” insurance is very expensive for a promoter to buy and often may not even pay out if a show is cancelled due to rain (there has to be a certain amount of rain…etc). The federal government should put a stop to this.

Or you can just go to someplace like Las Vegas, and see your concerts there. The same talent, same names, usually… And if something goes wrong, they care about your business and make sure you are 100 percent happy. I will never do another festival again. After watching this, can you blame anyone?

The article says we need more regulation. Wrong. We need less regulation. Another case of government trying to rule every aspect of life. People should take care of themselves. Next thing you know there will be a tax to inspect stages. This is a perfect example of the whiney liberals trying to use a tragedy to invade our lives. Enough is Enough. Bring on Michelle. She’ll do away with all the regulations so we can live free or die.
