The release of a much-anticipated collaboration between Lady Gaga and Cher—a song titled “The Greatest Thing,” written by Gaga and producer RedOne—is just around the corner: Yesterday, in response to a follower’s query about when the song would be out, Cher tweeted simply, “SEPTEMBER.” Here’s an appropriate response: Praise divas!
“The Greatest Thing” is set to be the lead single from Cher’s 26th studio album, which has been in the works for quite some time now. Last year, the superstar told EW that she was working with Diane Warren, the legendary songwriter behind Celine Dion’s “Because You Loved Me” and two tunes from Burlesque, including Cher’s power ballad “You Haven’t Seen the Last of Me.”
“It really won’t be ‘Believe’-ish,” she said of the album at that early stage. “It will be more…I don’t know how to say it. I can’t put a genre to it. It’s a little bit more real instruments, like guitars and stuff like that.” As recently as June, Cher tweeted that her new, still untitled album will be “WAY DANCE.” (Could that be the title? Ha.)
No official release date has been set for the album or the single yet, but you can sleep soundly knowing that a sure-to-be-delicious diva collaboration—and a diva comeback!—is coming soon. Consider it your gift for being so good this summer.

Bizarro Madonna??? Wow. You must be off your meds. Gaga’s weird attention whoring antics can fill up more space than the Declaration of Independence. Gaga had to resort to becoming a character 24/7 and wearing meat, kermits, and hay to garner attention. Gaga’s EGO is bigger than Texas….heck, even Rick Perry is jealous! Aaron thank you for downplaying Madonna’s appeal now. Yes, she just turned 53 and couldn’t care less what you thought of her…she keeps doing her thing….and millions of fans love it. There is nothing that Gaga is doing now that Madonna didn’t do first. Gaga was just lucky enough to thrust her career X10 with social media while Madonna just had MTV (when it was considered a music channel). BTW, Gaga’s self proclaimed CD of the decade, which spawned BTW, the single, the self proclaimed gay anthem of the universe, is pretty much a butt kisser to the gays. So, thank you Aaron for making me realize that Gaga’s fans are the true bullies and monsters. You deserve each other.

DUH!!!!! Can any of you idiots READ???? This is a DEMO version of the song that Gaga made a long time ago. Chances are this song is going to be TOTALLY redone with Cher putting her stamp on it and Gaga re-singing it with stronger vocals. I’m sure it will sound a million times better once the OFFICIAL version comes out in September. Again for you idiots who can’t read, THIS IS A DEMO!!!!

It IS going to be a duet. Cher has updated Twitter. But let me caution you: the single likely won’t drop until at least October … Sept. is less than 2 weeks away … and the album MAY street in late November … “Believe” was released in November 1998, FYI.
This will be epic on the dancefloors this FALL
