When Nashville sweethearts Miranda Lambert and Blake Shelton got married in May, it seemed like a romance written in a country song–one where, Lambert recently admitted, the guy was already married when they met.
In a new interview with Hoda Kotb, which aired Monday night on Dateline, Lambert said she immediately felt “this draw” to Shelton when they were first introduced at CMT’s 100 Greatest Duets Concert in 2005, so she tried to ignore the one thing keeping them apart.
“I knew he was married,” said the 27-year-old singer during the interview. “I had seen their wedding picture in Country Weekly. I knew better, like, this is off limits. My parents are private investigators for God’s sake. I’ve seen this my whole life – affairs. Of all people to know better, I know better than this.”
Shelton divorced his first wife, Kaynette Williams, a year after he met Lambert. “I’ve never had that kind of experience with anybody,” Shelton remembered of meeting Lambert in a recent Behind the Music episode. “I was a married guy, you know? Standing up there and singing with somebody and going, ‘Man, this shouldn’t be happening.’ Looking back on that, I was falling in love with her, right there on stage.”
Added Lambert in that same special: “It was just like this draw to each other. It was just sort of this inevitable chemistry.”

I’m glad Miranda Lambert and Blake Shelton ended up together and are now happily married. Marriage, in my experience, takes work. A lot of work.
I think my husband taught me a lot about inner beauty and confidence in myself. I’m slim but voluptuous. I’ve got curves and a large bust but it seemed that men were more interested in my chest than my personality. My exes seemed obsessed with my cleavage. They were always going on about my breasts, and in bed they practically worshipped them, while I wished they concentrated their attention elsewhere.
My husband’s in love with the person inside of me, and the outside of me is just a bonus. I feel better—so much better now than I ever did in my twenties. I know who I am. And as a result, I feel much sexier.

Actually Blake and his wife were having problems before Miranda came along. And no they did not act on their feelings until a year after his divorce. CMT did a special on Miranda and this was one of the topics discussed. His marriage was already falling apart when they met but them meeting opened his eyes to the fact that his marriage was done. Anyone who is a fan of Miranda or Blake knows they didn’t start dating until a year after his divorce.
She’s about to balloon on you Blake, better hurry up and enjoy before she does.

Why is SHE the terrible person? At least Miranda Lambert never really played up the “wholesome” card that is so oversold in country-western music now-a-days. The way I see it, Shelton is the one who ignored his vows. Lambert simply seems to be the person she’s always portrayed herself as.
Shelton may have ignored his vows, but she could have been respectful enough to leave a married man alone. I’m sure if she never came along that him and his previous wife may still be married. It seems like she is slowly letting the cat out of the bag.

@Lynn- They might still be married, but he’d probably still be cheating with someone else. There’s a millon women willing to sleep with a cheating man. It was up to him as a married man to stay faithful to his wife. I hope Miranda will be as understanding if he has that draw to someone else.

I lost all respect for Blake when he did kaynette dirty. I met him, and Kaynette MANY times, she was there with him from the ground up. Kaynette WIlliamns-Sheldon sold his t shirts and cds at all the little country clubs he played at and supported his husband, night after night. Then she got shafted. Sorry.
