There are few things surer in life than death, taxes, and the continued selling powers of the Beatles.
Today, the Fab Four bowed at no. 1 on iTunes with their mammoth 2000 hits collection 1, handily stealing the top spot from Lil Wayne’s That Carter IV and lording over the likes of Adele’s long-running 21 and Maroon 5′s newly revitalized Hands All Over, among others.
In the next few weeks, iTunes will also be rolling out the personal Beatles song picks of several contemporary stars, including Justin Bieber, Bruno Mars, Dave Grohl, Demi Lovato, Coldplay, and Ryan Adams—the last of whom we have a sneak preview of, exclusively here.
Says Adams of his own pick, “The Long and Winding Road”:
“I first heard the song in the way that you first ‘really hear’ a song—when it feels as though you’re listening with your whole body—last summer in London. I was lost in some neighborhood I was not meant to be in after a wrong turn. As the sky turned dark with mid-summer storm clouds the Glyn Johns mix in my headphones filled my skull with tremendous longing and a righteous amount of pain. I am now forever a fan after a lifetime of not being much of one. Still I will not buy a record with songs about naval craft no matter the color.”

Sometimes the best actually does rise to the top.
America does NOT love crap, for a change.
The one that always gets me is Sexy Sadie. Such an amazing song, but it is never on any regular compilations. Seriously, check it out.
Honestly, who gives a flying f*** which Beatles song is Justin Bieber’s favorite?
Does Bieber even know who The Beatles are?
“Stay away from ‘All You Need Is Love’, Biebs, don’t go there!”
I’d laugh endlessly if his favorite was “Tomorrow Never Knows” or “Revolution No. 9″.
Perhaps it might persuade him to stop when he realises just how trite, and I avoided a word that rhymes, he really is`
“Something” will always be my favorite. I am a George, so it is without a doubt my favorite thing he has ever written.
Is it wrong to say “all of them”? My favorite Beatles song changes daily. “Julia”, “Sun King”, “Love You To”, “Good Morning, Good Morning”, “In My Life”, it could go on and on…
No sir, it is not wrong. I can’t list just one (as my comment below proves), and I’m sure many can’t.
I like “Martha My Dear” and “Here, There, and Everywhere.” I’m a high school junior and still the biggest Beatles fan I know.
Brenna, you have excellent taste. Those are both great Paul choices. I also love For No One.
Too many to choose from. Today it’s “Revolution”. Tomorrow, who knows?
You can never go wrong with the Beatles…
Classic songs that have lasted almost half a century and will last longer than all of us!! Oh yea’, and Justin who?
Also, too hard to name a favorite Beatles song. So, I just listen to them all….
I am a 34 years old car salesman, rich and lonely, now I am seeking a nice woman to live together,so I got a username Matrix1164 on—Meetrich.C óM——-it’s the most effective site in the world to connect with, date and marry successful, beautiful people.Meanwhile,it’s worthy a try.The best part is that it’s completely free, unlike all the other paid dating sites. You do not have to be rich or famous!
“If I Fell,” “Words of Love” (the best Buddy Holly cover ever), “She’s Leaving Home,” “Two of Us,” “Across the Universe,” “A Hard Day’s Night,” “Come Together,” “Taxman”… too many to pick just one.
Name any Beatles song at random and I’ll think to myself “Oh yeah, I like that one” — “Think for Yourself”: that’s a nice one sung by George.
It’s super hard to jsut pick one! It could never be done! Amazing band who made THE BEST music in the entire world…WOW!!!
Darn near every song they did is a gem. These guys were so in a class by themselves. No one else even comes close.
Yep, different song every day. It’s amazing how much was created in just the few years the band existed. So much quality was created afterwards as well.
A decade ago the release of the original put the then ‘artists and superstars in the shade. Given the wonderful remastering of the original albums this I hope will repeat that success. Four individuals who blended together, three 24 carat song writing geniuses, the perfect composing double act and the number 1 act of all time. Oh an John’s sublime ‘In My Life’ will remain my favourite. Close your eyes and it becomes personal to you.
