Remember Willow Smith? Daughter of that guy from Wild Wild West and the singer from Wicked Wisdom? Of hair-whipping fame? After dropping her well-received first single “Whip My Hair,” Smith didn’t do anything for a while, probably because she had to prepare for a science fair or something. Then she unveiled “21st Century Girl,” which didn’t have the same kind of pop as “Whip My Hair” and didn’t receive nearly the attention of her first single. Was her journey to stardom over before it really got started?
Perhaps not. Yesterday, Smith’s third single made its way onto the radio. It’s called “Fireball,” and it’s a duet with Nicki Minaj, who certainly seems like an inspiration to Smith (at least in the hair department). Give it a spin below.
Produced by Stoopid Boots (can you even fathom the names that person rejected before landing on “Stoopid Boots”?), the track relies on the same sort of churning, jittery energy that made “Whip My Hair” a hit. Minaj’s verse isn’t her finest work, though she does get points for shouting out Chun-Li from Street Fighter.
According to “Whip My Hair” producer Jukebox, Smith is back in the studio finishing up her debut album, and she hopes to have it out by the end of the year. She is, of course, signed to Jay-Z’s Roc Nation label, which just scored its first major success in J. Cole’s chart-topping Cole World: The Sideline Story.

I like it, pretty catchy! Dont know about Nicki Minaj though.
Minaj is the highlight of the track, her Street Fighter verse kills as usual, but its also a ploy. Nicki jumped on an unofficial remix of “Whip My hair” that they never released, and now they put this out hoping to get sales & spins thanx to the red-hot Nicki being on the record. No way was RocNation dropping this Willow album when “Whip” only peaked at #11, they need a bonfide top 10 hit…which is what they’re assuming “Fireball” will be. I love Nicki, but since she popped up on like 3 new songs alone this week (Willow, Rick Ross, and Big Sean). I have to say I kinda wished “21st Century Girl” woulda been a bigger hit…but this is out on iTunes now.
She sucks.

Sara, you make a very big assumption that the parents are the sole impetus behind the fame of the kids. I would like to ask if their fame still be a problem if the kids were the ones who wanted it. What if they begged and pleaded to be allowed to follow their dreams? They seem to be talented children, and they are living in the shadow of highly visible and famous parents. They are never going to be normal kids. Given their situation, I would consider it natural if they wanted to carve out their own place in the limelight.
Ask yourself what it really costs you to give that family the benefit of the doubt. We have no proof one way or the other, so why the hurry to judge?

I Love it, I love Willow. Her and Nicki make such a good collaboration. Though she sounds really similar to Rihanna; Like if they added something about sex this could be Rihanna’s newest single.

I have been around church all my life. I am trying to figure out where quoting the Bible fits into this. As her mother stated, this is Willow’s dream. So in your opion the child that portrayed Jesus Christ in The Best Story Ever Told is being sinful. Or better yet, his parents are going to hell? This is why we can’t get people to come to church, the ignorance of the people from the pulpit to the pews. Here’s one for you… Judge not!

Ahh, but I don’t believe there is much evidence to prove exploitation or corruption of innocence (which seems to be the point of the quoted passage) in the first place. Condemning parents for exploiting children really works best if the children are actually being exploited.
