President Obama is no flip-flopper.
As the general election starts to shape up, our sitting commander in chief made sure to get a jump start on likely opponent and noted mind changer Mitt Romney by reassuring the public of his commitment to one of the most pressing matters of the day: Kanye West’s jackassitude.
In his in-depth profile of Yeezy for The Atlantic, David Samuels asked the president if he preferred Kanye West or Jay-Z, the hip-hop equivalent of “boxers or briefs?”
Of course, Obama replied as expected: “Jay-Z.”
Coolheaded as ever, POTUS then elaborated, “Although I like Kanye. He’s a Chicago guy. Smart. He’s very talented.”
And when Samuels reminded Obama that he once called West a jackass? “He is a jackass. But he’s talented.”
Yet while the dudes are duking that out, classy ladies Michelle Obama and Beyoncé Knowles (sorry, Kim!) prefer to stay positive. A gushy Bey took to her relaunched website to post the following handwritten letter to the First Lady:
Your move, Mitt and Ann!
