We’re only two weeks away from the release of Rihanna’s new album Unapologetic, the R&B diva’s seventh album in as many years.
That’s the release date for the normal edition, though. For those of you who like something a little more special, there’s the “Diamonds Executive Platinum Box,” which will street on December 11. Those extra few weeks will allow for ample time to collect your couch nickels, as the extra-fancy version of Unapologetic will set you back $250.
For those 240 extra singles, Rihanna superfans will score a T-shirt, seven lithographs, a two gigabyte flash drive, a mosaic poster, a notebook, seven laptop stickers, and a Viewmaster that tracks Rihanna’s various style transformations. Oh, and there’s a copy of the album in there too.
That seems like an awful lot of money for a little bit of promotional swag, though good laptop stickers are hard to find.
“Diamonds,” the first single from Unapologetic, currently sits at number eight on the Billboard Hot 100, and the video should be hitting soon.
What do you think? Will you pony up for the “Diamonds Executive Platinum Box”? Are there any artists for whom you’d spend that much on one album?
