Pink tweets on Christina Aguilera's drinking bust: 'Didn't everyone think I was gonna be the troublemaker?'

Pink-Christina-AguileraImage Credit: Todd Duffey/PR Photos; Christopher Polk/Getty ImagesOnce upon a time, there was beef between our Ladies of the Marmalade.

More recently, a certain kind of tweet-y peace had seemingly been brokered between Christina Aguilera and Pink. Still, the latter is not above a good-natured 140-character poke at her former rival in aughties pop supremacy—two rivals, actually.

Today, following Aguilera’s detainment for public intoxication, she posted to her official Twitter: “Out of Myself, Britney, and Christina—didn’t everyone think I was gonna be the troublemaker? LOOK MA!!! No CUFFS!!”

It’s true that the original don’t-let-me-get-me girl does seem to have settled happily into married-and-expecting adulthood, raising her glass to rebellion largely in her music, and leaving the thornier tabloid adventures to Brit and Xtina. Is Pink right to say that’s not how we all expected it to play out? Tell us what you think in the comments, below.

Britney Spears' 'Femme Fatale': Hear a snippet of new song 'I Wanna Go'

Britney-spearsIt was just last Thursday that Britney debuted the video for her No. 1 hit “Hold It Against Me” — but as is often the case with pop music, we’re already on to the next thing!

And that’s the next single from Brit-Brit, which is apparently going to be a song called “I Wanna Go” —and which, like “Hold It Against Me,” again comes to us from hit-maestro Dr. Luke, who’s responsible for everyone from Ke$ha to Jessie J.

A 20-second snippet of the song has hit the internets. In the vein of “Hold It Against Me,” “I Wanna Go” sounds like it’s going to be a veritable dance-floor banger, too—it’s loaded with synthy sounds, an addictive whistle, and a crescendo-ish, almost ascendant vocal from Ms. Spears. I’d say that the general vibe is basically: If you love dancey Britney, you’ll have no trouble loving this. Click through the jump here to take a quick listen.

Britney Spears' 'Hold It Against Me' video: Watch it here

britney-spears ”Hold It Against Me,” less a music video than an endlessly anticipated, relentlessly blog-ified Video Event, has finally been held.

The verdict? It’s kind of … frantic. And not unlike the commercials for her many fragrances; call this one I Am Curious (Android).

Plus there’s the product placements for her actual fragrances, among other things—including the Gaga “Telephone” redux Plenty of Fish. Also: bullet-cased panties, a voluminous wedding dress turned splatter-paint canvas, and some hooded, twirling ninja dudes with no eyes.

The best part is undoubtedly the battle of Britney vs. Britney, in which our lady Crouching Tiger Hidden Fight Clubs her own self to the death (or narcolepsies? It’s a toss-up). Otherwise, she seems to spend a large portion of the video with the half-distracted air of a person who thinks they may have left the stove on at home.

“You just cannot deny / there’s a spark in between us,” she sings, but the spark feels imposed more by the quick edits and bravura setpieces of director Jonas Akerlund than anything else; her dance moves are scarcely shown, spliced into strobelight-second flashes of small, I’m-trapped-in-an-invisible-box movement. It’s hard not to wonder: Is Britney having any fun?

We’ve analyzed enough, though; watch it below, and tell us what you think:

Aerosmith-Britney-SpearsImage Credit: Joe Traver/Getty ImagesIf Britney had the largest television audience for the premiere of her new music video, would you hold it against her?
