Cher debuts new single 'Woman's World' on 'The Voice': Watch it here

Last night on The Voice, some blonde girl who we’ll probably never have to hear from again won the competition. So let’s skip right to the big news: Cher returned to the stage for the first time in 12 years, and she brought her totally gonzo hair with her.

Of course, she also pulled back the curtain on her new single “Woman’s World,” which combines the techno-thump of “Believe” with the ladies-in-the-front tribal fist-pumpery of Beyoncé’s “Run the World (Girls).” She sounded a little shaky, but she still has a set of pipes.

And besides, who could really hear her over that sparkly jacket? Check out Cher’s live rendition of “Woman’s World” below.  READ FULL STORY

Beyonce's new album release date revealed? Norwegian fan encounter says maybe

Good job, Norway!

According to reports, Bey begrudgingly divulged a November release date for her next album to a fan after an Oslo tour date. Olivia Krantz wrote in a blog post that while attending a backstage meet-and-greet, she asked the singer when her next album was due. “‘In November’ was her answer before her gaze drifted to the next fan,” Krantz said (in Norwegian). “Got a faint feeling that she disliked the question.”

Meanwhile, in other Scandanavian news: the Swedish-based clothing company H&M has reportedly also incurred the wrath of Queen Bey after attempting to run doctored photos of her for their recent marketing campaign. British tab The Sun reports that the retail giant initially tried to run images that reduced the singer’s famously curvy physique.

“When Beyonce found out they had edited the way her body really looked, she hit the roof,” the paper’s insider says. “Her people refused to give the pictures the green light so H&M were forced to use the originals.”

Beyonce's 'Grown Woman' finds its way online

Beyoncé may not be pregnant with a second child, but she is apparently ready to birth some new music.

Though she’s been teasing bits and pieces of different tracks (theoretically from a forthcoming album that has no title or release date), there hasn’t been a full new Bey song—until now.

“Grown Woman,” which was previewed a little ways back via a Pepsi spot, made its way online late last night. It’s clearly a leak, since the various streams of the track have been rapidly taken down over the course of the morning, but if you want to check it out you can stream it hereREAD FULL STORY

Mariah Carey, Nick Cannon and #DemBabies celebrate 5th anniversary, Cinderella-style

The best way to brush away rumors that your bosses want to replace you with Jennifer Lopez? Simple: Put on your best princess gown, find a few dudes willing to dress up like cartoon footmen, and ride through Disneyland in a monkey-fighting fairytale carriage.

That’s just what Mariah Carey did last night. She and favorite accessory husband Nick Cannon spent the evening celebrating their fifth wedding anniversary at an elaborate, Cinderella-themed, Disney-approved vow renewal ceremony that featured trumpeters, a second wedding dress, and even a full-on Prince Charming outfit for Cannon — complete with epaulettes! This is true love, people. The occasion also happened to coincide with the second birthday of Cannon and Carey’s adorable twins, Moroccan and Monroe — a.k.a. “#DemBabies,” as Carey fondly calls the kids on Twitter.

Check out Mariah’s grand arrival at Disneyland’s Cinderella Castle, courtesy of the star’s own Vine account. (You just know that if Cinderella lived today, she’d have live-tweeted the crap out of that ball.)

Rebecca Black is the latest to cover Rihanna's 'Stay' -- We round up (and rank) other notable covers

Rihanna’s “Stay” is here to stay … one way or another.

When RiRi performed the slow-burn ballad solo on SNL earlier this year, and then again with Mikky Ekko at the Grammys in February, America got to see a new, more vulnerable side to the perpetually hard-shelled pop diva.

And America has gotten to see a whole lot of “Stay” covers, too; from Vin Diesel’s indescribable basement-karaoke rendition to Rebecca Black’s latest bid for relevancy, we’ve rounded up the most memorable ones thus far:

Malawi vs. Madonna: Singer stripped of VIP status, accused of making 'poor people dance for her'

The nation of Malawi has expressed itself — and it isn’t too happy with Madonna, who recently capped a weeklong visit to the country where her children David and Mercy (both 8 years old) were born.

When Madge, her four kids, and her entourage first arrived in the African nation on Monday, they were treated as VIPs — given heavy security, the right to breeze past checkpoints, and, presumably, a wide berth from any and all hydrangeas.

By the time they returned to Malawi’s Kamuzu International Airport on Saturday, things had changed. The Telegraph writes that the music icon and her crew saw their VIP status revoked. (According to Global Philanthropy Group president Trevor Neilson, the story is “a complete fabrication.” He told EW via e-mail, “Madonna hasn’t been stripped of any status.”)

“There was a directive that Miss Louise Ciccone… and her children should use the ordinary passenger terminal on their way to their jet,” an airport source told the paper. “Each and every person on her entourage went through the normal security checkpoints…. All their luggage went through security screening which never happened before.” Adding insult to injury, “We told them we can’t open the VIP lounge without authorization.”

According to Malawi’s chief immigration officer, visitors can be afforded VIP treatment only if authorities are notified of their visit in advance; Her Madgesty apparently neglected to follow this protocol.  READ FULL STORY

Beyonce releases new 'Grown Woman' preview -- VIDEO

Beyoncé didn’t earn the nickname Queen B for nothing. The multi-hyphenate has nailed singing, acting, and dancing. Thanks to a strategic roll-out for her upcoming album Mrs. Carter, she can add teasing to her long list of talents. After the long-awaited release of what turned out to be a Pepsi commercial, Bey has released yet another preview to her song “Grown Woman.”

In the 12-second video, we get a glimpse of a blonde Beyoncé filming what appears to be a music video (or perhaps another commercial), including a peek inside dance rehearsals. The message? Beyoncé is a grown woman who will do whatever she wants — better than you. Bow down.

Check out the new preview for “Grown Woman” below. READ FULL STORY

Beyonce's big reveal: Drinking sugar water, wearing clothes -- VIDEO UPDATE

After teasing us with a series of tour dates and a pair of strange preview tracks, Beyoncé finally made the big reveal.

Was it the official announcement of her new album? A proper first single? A killer new video? Or was yesterday’s teaser video with the hashtag #BeyHereNow merely a suggestion that there’s a lot of Oasis being played at the Carter household?

It was none of those things. Shortly after 9 a.m. ET on her official Tumblr, Beyoncé pulled back the curtain on… a photo of her drinking a Pepsi. Does that mean the check cleared on her $50 million deal with the soft drink manufacturer? There are two other new pics up, one of which suggests she’s doing something in video form, though whether it’s her own music video or some sort of Van Halen-esque hybrid is unclear.

So even though this big curtain-pulling moment is a bit of a letdown, rest assured you’ll have more Beyoncé than you’ll know what to do with in the coming months: She’ll be headed out on the Mrs. Carter World Tour, lending her face to H&M, covering an Amy Winehouse song for the soundtrack to The Great Gatsby, and doing even more shilling for Pepsi.

UPDATED: Shortly after we published, Bey unveiled a one minute Pepsi commercial, which includes her confronting famous former incarnations of herself, plus elements of a new song called “Mirrors,” a concept we’re totally not sick of in 2013 yet. Watch it below. READ FULL STORY

In latest rant, Morrissey goes after Beyonce

A few months ago, Morrissey had to postpone a handful of tour dates because of ill health. But perhaps he merely needed to take time out to restore his cantankerousness supply, as the habitual complainer has been extra prickly lately.

While on stage during a show at the Staples Center in Los Angeles on Friday night, Morrissey paused to go after none other than Beyoncé, whose purses caused “the extinction of the rhinos.” The former Smiths singer is, of course, super-vegan — so much so that he lobbied hard to have the venue purge itself of meat products for his performance. (The concession stands were only mostly vegan, though Moz should probably consider that a victory.)

Beyoncé is the latest target in an incredible run for Morrissey. He previously canceled an appearance on Jimmy Kimmel Live! because the cast of Duck Dynasty was also booked on the show (he takes umbrage with the whole idea of hunting, of course), and he later issued a scathing screed against Paul McCartney about his commitment to animals and his association with the royal family (who Morrissey finds more abhorrent than a bacon cheeseburger). Clive Davis responds to Kelly Clarkson: 'I had every fact checked'

The cold war of words between longtime music mogul Clive Davis and pop star (and former Davis charge) Kelly Clarkson got a new chapter yesterday.

To recap: In his new autobiography The Soundtrack of My Life, Davis told a handful of stories about the former American Idol champ, which included her weeping during a meeting and not wanting to release smash hits “Since U Been Gone” and “Behind These Hazel Eyes.”

Clarkson responded yesterday with an open letter to her fans, noting that Davis’ “stories and songs are mixed up.” She also said that the only time she ever cried in front of Davis was when he told her he hated the song “Because of You.” READ FULL STORY
