While the rumor mill swirls about Beyoncé’s possible bun in the Bey-oven, her former Destiny’s Child stablemate is making her own internet waves with a confessional new song.

Kelly Rowland’s new album Talk a Good Game comes out next month, and so far we’ve already heard the smooth Lil Wayne-assisted “Ice” and the barely SFW “Kisses Down Low,” but this morning Rowland unleashed an entirely different kind of conversation starter in the song “Dirty Laundry.”

The song finds Rowland airing out her feelings about an abusive ex-boyfriend and having to watch as Beyoncé’s career skyrocketed while her own failed to reach those kinds of heights. Listen below: READ FULL STORY »

Kelly Rowland is teaming up with her former Destiny’s Child bandmates for a track on her upcoming album, Talk A Good Game, Universal’s Republic Records has confirmed.

“It’s not a Destiny’s Child track, it’s me featuring Beyoncé and Michelle,” Rowland told Billboard of the as-yet-unnamed song. Describing the track’s sound, Roland simply said, “Soul.”

The collaboration will be the former group’s first since January, when the Pharrell Williams-produced “Nuclear” ramped up buzz for Destiny’s Child’s Love Songs compilation and the ladies’ on-stage reunion during Beyoncé’s performance at Super Bowl XLVII.

Game is due June 4 and will also feature a duet with Williams, an appearance from Wiz Khalifa, and production from Boy Wonder, T-Minus, and The-Dream, among others. Rowland told Billboard that she recorded “70-something songs” for the album but had to cut the final tally to 12.

The set’s catchy first single, “Kisses Down Low,” has already been causing a stir at radio because of its racy sex innuendo. Check it out below.

Kelly Rowland and Michael Bolton duet on 'Ain't No Mountain High Enough' -- VIDEO

kelly-rowland

Kelly Rowland is continuing her really very good 2013 — surviving being shot out of an air cannon at the Super Bowl (safety first!), seeing a major sales bump post-Bowl (not too shabby), cohosting the Oscars’ red carpet (great)  — with a Michael Bolton duet, for his newest release Ain’t No Mountain High Enough: A Tribute to Hitsville.

The pair have teamed up on the title track, which began as a classic hit for Marvin Gay and Tammi Terrell before becoming that thing the Sister Act 2 cast sang along to over the credits.

Honestly, we do have a few quibbles: Michael B.’s vocal tone is nice, all smooth-like and manly, but it tends to overwhelm the song’s original give-and-take. Also: Why does the instrumentation sound like’s it’s been kicked up two notches?

Also: Why does Rowland (shock, gasp) sound Auto-Tuned during a few of her vocal runs?

Take a listen below. Greater or less than “Kisses Down Low”? READ FULL STORY »

Q&A: Big Boi on new 'funk gumbo' album 'Vicious Lies & Dangerous Rumors'

BIG-BOI_510x317Big Boi’s latest album, Vicious Lies & Dangerous Rumors, hits stores tomorrow — which is neither a lie nor a rumor, despite earlier release-date delays.

EW talked to the OutKast-famed rapper about filling the big (left) shoes of his critically acclaimed 2010 solo debut Sir Lucious Left Foot: The Son of Chico Dusty, his response to hearing André 3000 apologize to him in T.I.’s recent “Sorry”, and how the 2011 earthquake and tsunami in Japan influenced Vicious Lies‘ first track. Kelly Rowland gets naughty, dancey in new 'Lay It On Me' video -- watch it here

Destiny’s plan for this Child? Apparently, it involves getting extra-sessy with a Slinky, reclining in a chaise lounge made of hairless men, and dancing in what looks like a hot Grecian diaper onesie.

Also, trunk-stroking action with an elephant, some casual vogue-ing inside a silver Mylar party balloon, and a smidge of Remy Martin product placement. Plus guest Big Sean, wearing a demure 18 pounds of gold chain.

So much to parse! Click to see it all after the jump: READ FULL STORY »

Whoops! Kelly Rowland accidentally unleashes her breasts during New Jersey concert

On Friday, Nicki Minaj turned some heads when her left nipple freed itself from the confines of her outfit  and said “Hello!” to a national television audience during a performance on Good Morning America.

While Kelly Rowland couldn’t technically have gone bigger (that’s just genetics), she certainly did go harder. During a peak moment at a concert in West Orange, New Jersey on Sunday, Rowland’s already-revealing top—shown above, while still (nominally) containing her assets—migrated up her chest and unleashed her twin commanders.

Rowland managed to bounce back and make a good-natured recovery, even going as far as joking about it on Titter (er, Twitter). “New Jersey crowd was amazing!! hope you enjoyed the show and didnt mind the peekaboo LOL!!! #kanyeshrug #stuffhappens,” she wrote.

Rowland is currently on tour in support of her recently-released album Here I Am, which contains her high-charting single “Motivation.” And with Minaj vanquished (a full pair always beats a single areola in Accidental Flasher Poker) and Janet Jackson in the rear view, Rowland is now the reigning wardrobe malfunction champion. The (braless) ball is in your court, Katy!
