According to Billboard, Rihanna will sing two hits from her album, Loud, during halftime of the Feb. 20 showcase, and Kravitz will play his new single, “Come On Get It,” when the teams’ rosters are introduced. Groban will sing the American national anthem; and Melanie Fiona will present the Canadian anthem.

Keri Hilson and Bruno Mars will perform during the pregame festivities, and Hilson will also sing the national anthem before the NBA slam-dunk contest on Feb. 19, which will also feature songs from Green, Far East Movement, and Cali Swag District.

'American Idol': Major music producers Alex da Kid, Tricky Stewart, Darkchild working with auditioning contestants in Las Vegas

American-Idol-producersImage Credit: Todd Duffey/PR Photos; Janet Mayer/PR Photos; John Shearer/; Jeff Kravitz/FilmMagic.comThe big changes on American Idol in its 10th season just keep on coming. This week, about 60 auditioning contestants (whittled down from 325 who made it to the Hollywood week round) have been rehearsing at the Las Vegas Mirage hotel to perform Beatles songs on the stage that Cirque du Soleil performs its Beatles-themed show LOVE. EW has learned that music executive and Idol‘s new in-house mentor Jimmy Iovine — whose mega-label Universal Music Group will release the Idol winner’s first album — has been in Las Vegas mentoring the potential contestants for those performances, and has assembled an impressive roster of major music producers to help: Alex da Kid (who produced Eminem’s megahit “Love the Way You Lie” featuring Rihanna, and B.o.B’s “Airplanes” featuring Hayley Williams), Christopher “Tricky” Stewart (Justin Bieber’s “Baby” featuring Ludacris, Beyoncé’s “Single Ladies”, Rihanna’s “Umbrella”), Rodney “Darkchild” Jerkins (Lady Gaga’s “Telephone” featuring Beyoncé, the Pussycat Doll’s “When I Grow Up”), Polow da Don (several Keri Hilson tracks, including “Turnin’ Me On” featuring Lil Wayne), and Jim Jonsin (Nelly’s “Just a Dream”, T.I.’s “Whatever You Like”). The contestants will only perform for Idol judges Randy Jackson, Jennifer Lopez, and Steven Tyler, and not a live audience.

An Idol insider explains to EW that this is part of the season-long effort to get audiences to know the kids better as people and artists, and to get them out of their comfort zones and more accustomed to what life as a major music star would be like — i.e. putting down the guitar, and getting used to the big stage.

“Been shootin’ for American Idol all day,” Alex da Kid tweeted yesterday. “There were some kool kids [sic].”

Katy Perry, Keri Hilson, and Jennifer Nettles to open 'Vh1 Divas Salute the Troops' this Sunday: Watch a preview here

Vh1 Divas Salute the Troops is coming to you this Sunday, but to tide you over until then, the cable network has posted a preview of the opening number, which features pop stars Katy Perry, Keri Hilson, and Jennifer Nettles of Sugarland performing WWII-era hit “Boogie Woogie Bugle Boy.” It’s inspired! The show, as you can tell from the title, is a twist on the old Divas formula, in that its—you guessed it!—saluting the troops, so this retro, Andrews Sisters throwback is a super-appropriate opening. And although she isn’t featured in the clip (which you can watch below), VH1 says that the number will also feature an appearance by rapper du jour Nicki Minaj.

Check out the clip now, and don’t forget to tune in this Sunday at 9 p.m. to see the whole show:

T.I. and Keri Hilson stay true in their 'Got Your Back' video: Watch here

In the new video for T.I. and Keri Hilson’s “Got Your Back,” an actor plays an imprisoned man sustained by the love of a loyal lady back home. This must be a subject near and dear to the heart of T.I., who spent much of 2009 behind bars on a weapons conviction. His own real-life longtime love, former Xscape singer Tameka “Tiny” Cottle, even makes a sweet cameo with Tip at the very end of the clip.

The rest of the video shows the two main performers grooving to “Got Your Back” in various well-chosen outfits, often while separated by a symbolic wall. Check it out after the jump and let us know what you think, and if you’re looking forward for T.I.’s King Uncaged to arrive this September. READ FULL STORY

4 reasons why you can't miss VH1's Dirty South Hip Hop Honors

bow-wow-dupriImage Credit: Theo Wargo/WireImage.comLast night (June 3) at New York’s Hammerstein Ballroom VH1 paid its annual homage to hip-hop, VH1 Hip Hop Honors: The Dirty South. The “Dirty South” part is new. For the first time, VH1 chose to pay its respects to a specific region—an effort that a few Southern legends found disrespectful. Wondering why VH1 couldn’t simply incorporate more Southern acts into their regular Hip Hop Honors celebrations, Suave House Records founder Tony Draper and veteran Houston rapper Scarface both declined on opportunities to be involved. But the show went on. And aside from a couple of technical difficulties Uncle Luke and his 2 Live Crew experienced, it went off without a hitch.

Missy Elliott, Fabolous, and Keri Hilson came out to honor hitmaker and Virginia native, Timbaland. J Prince of Rap-A-Lot Records sat back and enjoyed performances from fellow Texas homeboys Paul Wall and Chamillionaire. But there were a few moments that stood out above the rest, making its premiere this Monday (June 7) must see TV. One was nasty.  Another was backwards. Read what they are after the jump.

R. Kelly feat. Keri Hilson, 'Number One': Yet another crazy sex metaphor

R. Kelly has a new music video out, and you know what that means: Another super-catchy jam built around a ridiculous extended metaphor that somehow involves sex.

Actually, coming from the man who gave us such masterpieces as “Sex in the Kitchen,” “Sex Weed,” and “Sex Planet,” Kells’ new single — “Number One,” a duet with the lovely Keri Hilson — might qualify as subtle. “Having sex with you is like making hits,” he sings to Hilson, adding, “I’m in your mix like a No. 1 record.” Considering how much time R. Kelly probably spends each day thinking about either songwriting or lovemaking, I’m kind of surprised it’s taken him this long to arrive at a concept that unites his two favorite hobbies so neatly. And hey, at least he’s not comparing himself to a Jurassic “Sexasaurus” this time, right?

Watch the “Number One” video below, then let us know: What do you think? How does this measure up to R. Kelly’s most absurd tunes?

What (late night music) To Watch: Keri Hilson and Lil' Wayne on 'Jimmy Kimmel'

Kerihilson_lWhile I’m always down for some N.E.R.D., Keri Hilson on Jimmy Kimmel gets the edge this evening because she’s got Lil’ Wayne, too: The pair will be performing "Turnin’ Me On." Though her latest single with Kanye West and Ne-Yo is probably better, I’m curious to see how some of Wayne’s R-rated lyrics will translate on national television — and a PG-rated visit to Wayne’s World is better than no visit at all. Elsewhere, Prince is still on Leno and Letterman and Ferguson are still on repeats because of March Madness.

Also scheduled for tonight:

Prince (part three) on The Tonight Show with Jay Leno
N.E.R.D. on Late Night with Jimmy Fallon
Lyle Lovett & John Hiatt on the Late Show with David Letterman (repeat)
The Damned on the Late Late Show with Craig Ferguson (repeat)
Ben Harper & Relentless 7 on Last Call with Carson Daly

Keri Hilson's 'Knock You Down' video: Will it make her a star?

Kerihilson_lKeri Hilson is caught in an unlikely love triangle between Kanye West and Ne-Yo in her new video for "Knock You Down," the fourth single from her seductive debut CD, In a Perfect World, which drops today. Though their scenes together are G-rated in comparison to Ciara’s steamy romp with Justin Timberlake in their new clip for "Love Sex Magic," Hilson’s solo shots in bed are undeniably hot. Indeed, a tasteful flash of booty never hurt nobody. But will it help listeners connect with her CD? It’s hard to say. Her first single, last year’s "Energy," peaked at a disappointing No. 78 on the all-important Billboard Hot 100 chart, but a guest appearance by Lil Wayne pushed "Turnin Me On" to No. 15. Still, none of her singles–including "Return the Favor"–have matched the success of her breakout cameo on Timbaland’s 2008 hit "The Way I Are," which soared to No. 3. What gives? Hilson’s got the beauty, the body, the voice, and the slick radio-friendly cuts that it takes to compete with today’s top R&B divas. She even has a sultry song her CD called "Slow Dance" that was co-written by Timberlake. So what’s it going to take to make her CD a hit? If the answer is as simple as a sexy video with J.T., would they please hurry up and make that happen ASAP?
