Miley Cyrus 'Unplugged': Cyrus twerks on a horse made of people, and 4 other things you missed -- VIDEO

It’s Miley Cyrus, y’all!

On the singer’s MTV Unplugged concert Wednesday night, Cyrus said she always missed her home in Nashville, so she tried to “bring Nashville back here!” and turn her L.A. taping into a hoedown. (And, yes, she made a joke about being a “ho” “down” so we don’t have to.) But this wasn’t a Billy Ray concert circa 1993; instead, the country theme manifested itself with plenty of “y’alls,” a barn aesthetic, and — of course — a horse made of people.

The 45-minute show asked viewers a simple question: What Miley Cyrus do you want? Do you want the girl who’s got a human horse and brings little people up on stage with her while wearing ridiculous costumes and twerking on everything that moves? Check out videos one and two below, and be outraged/amused to your heart’s content. Or do you prefer the singer stripped down, performing tracks with real vocal power? That version of the singer appeared as well, belting “Wrecking Ball” and some other ballads on a stage free of little people and horses.

Regardless of the Miley you’re looking for, you’ll find it below. Pro tip: The red-and-white checkered outfit is a cheat sheet that the song will be raunchy. The “classier” (?) all-denim ensemble means she’s a serious artist with a ballad about lost love Liam Hemsworth to share with you. READ FULL STORY

Miley Cyrus gets down with Madonna, covers Dolly at MTV Unplugged session: On the scene

Miley Cyrus brought some of her Nashville roots to her MTV Unplugged special airing tonight -- and had a special material cowgirl join in the Hollywood Hoedown.

Unplugged is known, of course, for offering an intimate environment for artists like Nirvana, Bob Dylan, and Jay Z to play classic songs from their catalogs, often with a smattering of covers. The question in Los Angeles last night was, would Cyrus be able to control her wrecking ball in that supposedly more subdued setting?

Yeah, we didn't think so either. Of course, no cowboy-themed festivity would be complete without a giant costume horse, so Miley has one of those onstage -- and as expected, she twerked all over it. (The dancers inside the horse seemed to really be enjoying it though; then again, they probably had no choice.)

Cyrus said having her own Unplugged special was a dream come true, and thanked MTV for letting her do one, calling them "brave." Her Bangerz tour doesn't kick off until Feb. 14 in Vancouver, so this was the first time many of the songs from that album have been performed live. Miley honored her godmother Dolly Parton by playing one of her hits -- you'll have to tune in tonight to find out which, since the song list is embargoed until it airs -- and sporting a svelte pink plaid jumpsuit with a short blond bob wig.

"Today is one of those days when it's easy to get out of bed," Cyrus told the crowd of family and friends, referring to the fact that she got to perform with one of her idols, Madonna. The two closed out the set with a mashup (still can't tell, sorry) that just may rival Madonna and Britney's infamous VMA kiss.

Who knew Miley and Madonna were such close friends? I mean, I assume only close friends would slap each other's butts on national television and do some pretty risqué line dancing. Madonna, dressed in all black, presented Cyrus with cowboy hat  to go with her sparkling ripped denim and bikini top. Cyrus said you can look at life two ways; half clothed or half naked. Either way, she's pretty great unplugged.

Miley Cyrus: MTV Unplugged airs tonight at 9 p.m. ET. and check out Miley's interview with MTV News after the performance below:

Miley Cyrus will star in her own 'MTV Unplugged' next week

It’s true — she can’t stop.

If you’ve been foolishly walking around 2014 thinking that The Year of Miley was well behind us, you’ve been wrong: In an announcement made during tonight’s Teen Wolf, the world learned that it would be getting a Miley Cyrus: MTV Unplugged special on Jan. 29.

Unplugged, of course, is the 25-year-old MTV franchise that’s given us memorable performances from the likes of Nirvana, Bob Dylan, Jay Z, Korn, and dozens more. As with many of those earlier iterations, the network teases in a press release that the Miley edition will  “showcase a more intimate side of Cyrus and feature surprise guests for an unexpected re-invention of the songs that have defined her career, including several from her #1 critically acclaimed album, Bangerz.”

Russian busker sounds exactly like Kurt Cobain: Watch him here

Kurt Cobain’s vocal doppelgänger exists, and he’s Siberian.

Meet Nikolay Petrovsky, a young subway busker whose voice almost exactly replicates that of the late Nirvana frontman, down to the subtle breaks and distinct throaty grain. (via Russia’s Life News) reports that Petrovsky, who doesn’t drink or smoke or speak English, was trained as a sailor and has been playing in Russian subways since 2004.

In the videos below, watch him perform “Pennyroyal Tea” off of In Utero, followed by Cobain’s solo acoustic version from 1993’s MTV Unplugged.  The resemblance is uncanny: READ FULL STORY
